The Amazing Spider-Man 2 disappointing reviews?

So are you blaming RT or math?

I think a related argument can be considered like "You can blame EA all you want, but the ones that are at true fault is the studios." In short, it's not their fault that there are a billion negative reviews.

He's not saying it's bad because of the Avengers, but that it looks even worse after the genre has given the likes of The Avengers.

Which isn't a problem if you bring up, but when your overall consensus is "this element is bad in comparison to Avengers", it makes the review look unfair and biased. Had it been not presented as the epitome of the review, it would be a different story.

Seems a bit unfair for your overall consensus to be "It's bad in comparison to Avengers."

I read her review...that woman needs to get laid...She says that Gwen is weak character and she does nothing but just looks cute.

I dind't liked avengers much...it was cool movie I guess...I gave it 6/10. For me TWS is the best Marvel movie and after that Iron man and Avengers...then Thor with 5 and rest...I don't even care about cause they're that bad.

Breaking News: people have different opinions.

Yeah I know I get that but I just don't know what is so appealing about this movie...RDJ is great as always but it's really bad superhero movie IMO. And tell me since when his power source stopped being the power source for the suits?

Well We're getting off topic here.

That's quite true just like in case of IM3

Exactly...I still don't understand how this s**t get more than 40%. It's like the worst Marvel movie with Iron man 2. It's nothing more than Robert Downey jr. show.

This is going off-topic, but Iron Man 3 was a great film, exactly what i think popcorn blockbuster films should be doing, it had fun with itself, wit, some memorable scenes and very well handled action. Simply a joy to watch.

It never did, but i'm sure he can find other way to power the armor without needing the power source to be in his chest. And no, it was far from a bad Superhero film, actually was better structured and better as a film itself than most.

Considering all the talk about her relationship with Peter being the best part and how well she was handled in the previous film, that does seem like a weird statement on that critic's part.

This side of TDK and the Avengers, no more "going light" on superhero films. We know they can be very good films. No more, "its good for a superhero film". Thank Zod for that.

This.

Besides 70% is still good. Not like it's 20%
Lets be honest. When we are looking at review sites, 70% is not good, just like a 7/10 from Gamespot is not good. The successfully average is not the wings on which greatness flies. :funny:

And it's likely only going to keep going down. This almost the worst possible scenario this could have went (except of course being universally panned).

The best gauge is the average rating. ASM2 has a 6.2 right now. Thor 2 had a 6.2 and held a 65% RT score. If that average rating holds, the movie will probably end up somewhere between 65% and 70%.

Uh...70% is still good. If it hits the low 60s, then it is mixed reviews. For the time being, the movie is being received generally positively IMO.

So far the positive reviews are coming in timid. As if it is "good enough", but just.

Not sure about that, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 was around that and it's still very fondly remembered, Indiana Jones 2 and 3 also have an average score around the 7/8

TASM 2 is currently ay 70%, with a 6.2 rating.

Pirates is at 79% with a 7.1 rating.

Temple of Doom is at 84%, with a 7.2 rating.

The Last Crusade is at 88%, with a 7.9 rating.

That is not even close to the same ballpark.

70% for a CBM that has yet to be released in the states is not good.

Average of 6.2 to 7.1 or 7.2 isn't that far at all, expecially when you consider that both Indy 2 and 3's ratings have been rising as years go by, they were not as loved when they were first released

Well it's audience rating is great but how can 154,000 have seen it already?

Indy 2 and 3 don't have that many reviews, and weren't released during the RT years.

I kinda feel disappointed in life now :/ Not even MrTardisReview's review of TASM2 makes me shocked... I think I'm suffering from Spiderman burnout after the Superior Spiderman, plus seeing a lot disappointing comic book movies..... Oh, and the comic books and video games and T.V. shows and so on. I'll still watch The Amazing Spiderman 2, but I'll probably have the lowest expectations I ever had for a Spiderman movie.

After the last film,so have I.But that could be a good thing. My expectations are so low,I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

I'm pretty depressed about life now.... That's the jaded life of me. Oh, and I'm suffering Spiderman burnout.... Damn Superior Spiderman....

I don't think so in regards to IM3. Big fans of the character are more likely to not like IM3, considering the changes to the source material etc.

But i don't give a crap about the accuracy to the comics, i thought IM3 was really good :yay:
