🇺🇸 Discussion: General Election 2024, 🥥 VS 🍊

US News
People will be celebrating. They'll literally be overjoyed by this outcome. It's like they've been hypnotized by a language that the rest of us don't understand. When **** that Trump passes starts to make things go south, and people start getting hurt, his supporters will either be enthralled or utterly confused by the strange outcome. It's exhausting and infuriating.

The chaos has been beating on the door. Next year it breaks through.
The language isn't hard to understand. We just believe too much in humanity.

Trump's going to get the benefits of what Dems passed. It wasn't large, but some long term stuff will look good during his term, like with his first term. And the issues will hit the next cycle and the Dems, if they win, will get in and do half measures, because that's the only way they do things.

The Dems had the chance to fix things. 2021, they had it all. They didn't. And you will hear all the excuses for why, but look where we are now.

Praying the Dems win the house. Not looking great, but it's necessary. Happy my bro and I voted.

Tariffs raise prices and a big recession or depression does destroy demand which lowers prices. So with Trump you can get a two-fer of bad economic policy!

I feel like such an idiot. Even with Harris doing everything I wish she wouldn't the last 6 weeks, I thought she'd win. I bought into the "necessity" of it. My gut told me to be worried but I ignored it. Thought all the Trump desperation meant he had polling that had him freaked. But no. I should've known when my mind refused to let me start the new Dragon Age we were ****ed.

I'm also concerned about the millions of folks that are currently living off of social security income. From what I've read online, Trump's plans will likely have a big negative impact on those funds. I wouldn't be surprised at this point if his cult tries to threaten the general public and congress into keeping Trump on as President after his second term expires.

Whether you live by faith or not, I feel like this country is going to need a lot of prayer going forward.

Do you guys think Joe Biden would have fared better against Trump had he remained in the race?

Ugh. I'm even more disgusted than I was in 2016.

I'll probably get some flak for this, after the way Trump mishandled the pandemic, I can't imagine why so many people are voting for him other than sexism. I've read about many Gen-Zers not liking the idea of a female president.

No. As his garbage comment shows, he was falling apart. He'd have the white man benefit, but he's lost all the sauce. Also people blame him for inflation and all their woes. Which you know, isn't completely unfair.

The manosphere has done it's job.

The prelim exits have white voters liking Harris (-12) more than 2020 Biden (-17), and non-white voters liking 2020 Biden (+45) more than Harris (+33).

An unexpected result to be sure.

Not really. This is tied to the previous presidency being considered a failure. They liked Biden because he wasn't Trump. Now they liked Trump because he wasn't Harris or Biden.

Well, I had a hope we'd be done with the guy , but as Gandalf said in Return Of The King, it was "only a fools hope " .
