🇺🇸 Discussion: General Election 2024, 🥥 VS 🍊

US News
Apparently there was a spike in Google searches about Donald Trump's policies after the election. This country is so ****ing stupid.

36% of eligible voters didn't even vote. Lower than usual, but they outnumbered the winner unlike in 2020.

36% did not vote | 32% voted for Trump | 31% voted for Harris

Yeah. That's the thing you do BEFORE you vote. Trump was denying Project 2025 and now look who he's picking for his cabinet. This was all foretold.

So......I haven't really posted much since the election. Basically, I'm still trying to process how disappointed I am in the American people. I still can't figure out how people came to the conclusion that they should vote for him because "Yeah...he's a rapist and a felon and tried to overturn an election, but I think he'll be good for the economy". Frankly, I think his misogyny sold to a large segment of the population and the level of disgust I feel would be hard to express. I guess we, collectively, deserve what we get, but, if I'm right, I feel so sorry for the individuals who are going to suffer. There's so much blame to go around and I won't get into which groups disappoint me more than others. For the non-white population who got bamboozled by this swindler, you're probably paying the highest price tag. Meet the new boss......

It's just a sad statement on the American psyche

Why? I can't see her winning now.

If she runs, I imagine she will try to repackage herself. She's probably thinking Trump will be unpopular after tanking the country the next four years and people will want change. Its very likely the other democrats in the primary would love to run against her ("you ran against Trump and lost", etc) and use her as an example of the kind of thing the democratic party needs to move away from (the coastal elitists who don't fight for the working class, etc) .

It is. I mean Trump is so blatantly bad for normal Americans that I just don't get it. Maybe after these 2025 bozos inflict enough pain on us, the while lot will get voted out in the mid terms.

She'll probably run for Governor so Newsom can run for POTUS.

I'd really rather have this, though Newsom has his own problems. I'm not crazy about the way he's treated homeless people in his state.

He's also in the pocket of Big Tech and would probably veto any regulation on AI.

It explains some of the stupidity. Like not researching who you voted for.
