So, I've been thinking about certain demographics and white women is one of them. IIRC, they supported Trump by a fairly narrow margin in 2020 and the thought occurs to me that the election was before Roe was overturned in the Dobbs decision. Also, having a woman who has clearly taken the lead implementing Roe as a matter of law could further erode his support.
It would be interesting to see a poll post Biden stepping away among this group and maybe more so in a week or so down the road.
I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth things have gone in the last few days and I think it bodes well in November. If the economy continues to improve, the mess in the Middle East can get worked through (I don't think Kamala has Biden's baggage there), and Trump's age and behavior comes under increasing scrutiny, I think there's a real chance she wins. She can talk about her economic programs that will help working people, hammer away at Dobbs/Project 2025, and issues that affect young people. In addition, I don't think she's overly tainted by some of Biden's weaknesses. They better come up with more than she's dumb, laughs too much, and is crazy.
