These Vance childless cat lady comments seem to have hit a nerve and done what I think will be lasting damage. I think there will be some voters who either now don’t vote for Trump or go from not voting/voting independent to actively voting against him as a result. Even as a guy and not in the US but with cats and no kids I thought it was pretty horrific, and seeing a lot of right-leaning people who are pretty shocked by his comments. Vance wasn’t designed to be a politician - this is exactly what you don’t do as a VP right out of the gate.

Of the three leading contenders for VP for Harris, Beshear and Walz i think help Harris more than Kelly, since Kelly has a rather strong stand against Unions which are the backbone of the democratic party and since Harris took over the unions are moving back to her and away from Trump, Kelly might hurt that trend, where Walz and Beshear help her considerably in the rust belt states where her support is weakest, yes their states dont bring the electorial votes that Kellys does but there was no guarntee they would win their states anyway, Kaine did nothing for Hillary, they didnt win Virginia where he was from, democrats dont perform well in the south, and even though Kelly is an honorary Texan that doesnt mean he alone would flip a bright red state like Texas Blue

Personally I'm on Team Walz, but I'm preparing for Kelly. If that rumor that Obama and Biden dropping is true, Kelly was Obama's preferred choice.
