🇺🇸 Discussion: General Election 2024, 🥥 VS 🍊

US News
I'd love to see this as well, if only for the look of embarrassment and humiliation on the AntiChrist's face.
He'd probably gloat anyway but it would definitely send a message.

The Democrats definitely need to find some economic policies that will do what FDR did like DK keeps saying, but beyond that....they need someone who isn't going to play the gentleman's game. Kamala and Biden are too nice. Trump and his cronies are not nice. They go on the attack regardless of fact. You need someone who is going to meet the bully and be willing to punch them in the face and not let them get away with the BS. If you keep playing a gentleman's game against someone who has a gun, you're going to get shot in the face

What a dumb take, he couldn't give a **** less about them or any of them attending. The only two sides of that coin is he wants them to attend to rub it in their faces, or would not want them to so that he doesn't have to share the spotlight.
In reading Woodward 's books recently he actually does care because his ego is so fragile. He wants to be afforded all the same trappings of an Obama even though he's earned none of them.

As a Christian I am not supposed to hate anyone but damn, they sure make it hard if not impossible. :(

I understand, but it's actually evil that you're hating at the heart of it when you reflect on it (which one should hate as a Christian) but of course it's manifested in humans and the line is sometimes blurred.

Well if one has to stoop down to Trump's level to achieve this and lose their integrity in the process, is that worth it? As Harvey Dent said: "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain."

If a future Democratic candidate acts exactly like Trump in order to win and does win and commits the same crimes, aren't you going to hate him just as much? What would differentiate him from Trump apart from the fact that he'd be for a different party? That wouldn't make him any better.

It's not about stooping to his level. You don't have to make 1000 lies like immigrants are eating your pets or putting out false information. But you need someone will to not just....stand there and let him spew bullcrap without fighting back! That would also go a long way toward education people on these issues instead of just letting these goons control the narrative with their noise. Punch the bully in the mouth!

Otherwise you can enjoy that moral high ground, while they enjoy the voting power and making the policies we all have to suffer

Democrats and the left can't rely on big white capitalist media to save them, they have to create their own. And they need to get their efforts in front of men.

This is one of the more recent ones, love it or hate it, it is necessary:

I know I would. We have to better than that. :(

This is by far the best thing I've read in this thread since election night

Yeah, I’m thinking Newsom or Shapiro for 2028 (assuming we still have an actual election) because they’re direct and hit back. Independent voters prefer white men any day of the week, as much as it disgusts me to say it after Tuesday night.

Clinton spoke about how she pushed that ceiling and even cracked it open for Harris to break through. In the end she did no such thing as Harris didn't do any better and in fact probably did worse, not even winning the popular vote this time. Seems the US won't accept any female whoever it is.

One possible position that I think the Dems should campaign on possibly, four day work week. It's worked very well in some of Europe and is the kind of thing that can have broad appeal

Totally agree with the tough guy who will turn around and punch the bully in the face. No more, Mr. Nice Guy. The two most successful Democratic presidents in the 20th century with respect to domestic policy, FDR and LBJ, were street fighters. They weren't afraid of pork, kickbacks, and the bully pulpit of the presidency if it got their agenda through.

FDR threatened to stack the Supreme Court to get them to back down and stop striking down his legislation and primaried opponents within the Party who didn't support the New Deal. Similarly, LBJ was infamous for literally c**k slapping people in public restrooms to intimidate them. Imagine if Biden had done that sort of **** to get Manchin and Sinema in line? Maybe if his economic legislation hadn't been gutted by those losers, people wouldn't feel like America is still broken.

When you are stuck in a choice between democracy and fascist dictatorship, bending and breaking the rules to make sure they survive somewhat intact is perfectly fine. Because you at least recognize they are important and worth preserving.

I think the only way for a female president at this point would be for a situation similar to the 2005 TV series "Commander in Chief" starring Geena Davis where she was VP and the sitting president died in office fairly early into his term, leaving her with becoming POTUS by default. That could've happened with Kamala Harris if Biden had died or were declared mentally unfit back in 2021 or 2022. At least she would've had some time in office and could've distanced herself from Biden's policies.

I love how that New Republic article makes it a point to blame men for Kamala losing while completely ignoring the support she got black men.

There's some drift w/ black men too, but definitely not as disastrous as the other male groups.

2024: Harris 77% D+56
2020: Biden 79% D+60
2016: H. Clinton 82% D+69

Shapiro. Newsom is downright evil to the homeless and unions. He also supports Big Tech by killing the AI regulation bill.

I dont know about his standing in Michigan or Wisconsin, but Shapiro I know is well liked in PA and more than likely at least carries PA.

I would have to look at the entire pool of possible Dems more closely prior to 2028 to tell ya who I would run

Yeah. I was so hoping he and Madame VP could get stuff done with a threadbare Congressional majority. Instead, MM, WW and Latino men screwed everyone over.
