I doubt it, but you'd probably get some nasty remarks for insulting MJ's daughter.
The context is the picture itself...and the team up it represents: Amadeus "Hulk" Cho, Shang Chi, Ms. Marvel, Silk, Jimmy Woo and Jake Oh.

I'm not familiar enough with comic book properties to know, I don't read comics.
If an idea like that was posted on the Hype I'm sure you know it would only be supported enthusiastically.
I'm curious if your sensitivity to race issues is just when black folks are involved or if it extends to all races.
I'm asking about the reactions to a team up of Asian characters.Lol...show you the vitriol? I've been on these boards since 2003. You think I keep backup files of all the threads I've ever been on?
Then the question I posed wasn't really aimed at you.
I'm asking about the reactions to a team up of Asian characters.
RockSP: What do you think of this?
DP: I have no opinion.
RoclSP: Aaah! You hate it! You racist! I knew it!![]()
Has everyone checked their straight white male privelege before posting in here?
So you mean the neckbeards on an internet forum had negative opinions on something in their personal capacities? Not exactly something to get worked up over, if you're holding out for complete racial/identity harmony you're going to be waiting a long time.
Who's worked up? Asking a question equals being worked up?If people are allowed to complain that they don't like so many whites in [Insert Property] are people not allowed to complain that they don't like so many [X Identity] in another property?
Well since they've never got one I imagine it'd be positive? Are you going to argue that because there isn't a black team up people are inherently racist or something?
Lol...wow. Someone seems to be projecting. If you somehow think I'm upset about an Asian superhero team up than you need to reread my second post on this subject. I bought the comic that is the subject of this "discussion".Last time I checked Black Panther had an all-black cast, with some of the best actors in the industry, before Marvel decided to bring this all-Asian cast to film - the bigger medium between comics or film.
I'm not sure what your gripe is here?
Who's worked up? Asking a question equals being worked up?
People can do what they want. It doesn't mean it makes any sense. You said you don't read comics so maybe you don't know that the vast majority of mainstream comics (that means marvel & dc, usually) are about white characters. There have been numerous all white teams. So the fanboys who get upset when a black superhero (or Asian, or latino, etc) gets a book or if multiple black (or Asian, etc.) characters team up aren't the brightest bulbs, to say the least.

Cute try, but you juxtaposed the Asian cast against the proposed and historic reaction to an all-black cast, so clearly the acceptance of an all-black cast as a team-up is an issue for you. Black Panther doesn't have an all black cast...just an FYI.
Those same token roles I'd assume you would criticize were the black/white demographics in the movie reversed? That much is obvious, since you (and regwec) are going out of your way to make up a gripe that doesn't exist.

To any comic book readers in this thread: are you offended by this?
They're all supposed to be Asian?I'm asking about the reactions to a team up of Asian characters.
Nope.
I honestly don't understand why people are offend by such trivial stuff so much.
Some folks have weird deep seated racial hang ups for whatever reason. Certain trivial stuff seems to trigger those kind of people.
I don't think the comic fan community is any more or less racist/prejudice than the rest of society.
You posted the all-Asian cast and (after some prompting from me) asked a question about people's theoretical reactions to an all-Black cast - referencing, and I quote, "vitriol". This clearly isn't a discussion on our favorite ice cream flavors. You posted that picture for a specific reason.
Okay, and if we were to break down consumer demographics of comic book sales is it likely the vast majority would be white males? Economically, does it perhaps make sense? If a market comprising of 70% white people has media platforms primarily represented by whites, doesn't it make logical sense? People want to see their own identities mirrored in fiction, so if whites are a larger amount then certainly market size being correlated to actual demographics is rather logical…?
Hispanics are a higher percentage of the population of the US than black Americans, they're not getting a majority-Hispanic cast movie like Black Panther, are you outraged about that oversight in representation?
Also, I'd highly recommend you stop paying attention to what any fanboy say about anything, they're ****ing morons.
How can I project that?Cute try, but you juxtaposed the Asian cast against the proposed and historic reaction to an all-black cast, so clearly the acceptance of an all-black cast as a team-up is an issue for you.
You're right, token roles for Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis are a huge deal. Luckily they cast one of them as the villainous white devil whites really are, amiright?![]()
Those same token roles I'd assume you would criticize were the black/white demographics in the movie reversed?
So articulate your point then. Why did you post that picture in a thread on racism and then directly reference previous reactions to all-black team ups?
