Discussion: Racism - Part 3

This is exactly why I am not on Twitter, or Instagram or anything else. There are more *******s than people using it.

Idiot blocks doctor from entering the gated community where she lives because "she doesn't belong there"...:whatever:

That is just shocking, disturbing and sickening.

I miss the old days when incels would just commit suicide. Social media has had the unfortunate effect of prolonging the lives of these disgusting men by years too many.

So, the GOP in my state of MI wants to refer the KKK "as an anti-Republican organization, not an anti-black organization". They are literally trying to white wash the Klan.

And they're portraying themselves as the victims in the process. Pretty sad. The argument itself approaches KKK levels of loony racism.

To be fair, the oldschool prime-influence-in-their-evil KKK weren't Republicans, but southern Democrats.

And the Klan now is pretty likely anti establishment-GOP, more part of the new Bannon-devised crew.

Oh, so David Duke isn't a thing now? You know, former Grand Wizard David Duke, who ran for office as a Republican and is once again a Republican in Trump's America. Sure, sure, sure.....

The KKK started under the Democratic Party, but the parties of old bear little resemblance to those of modern times. The underlying theme that seemed to subsist among Democrats was the belief in standing up for "the little guy" - before the Great Depression, this usually referred to the struggling white farmer or laborer. Obviously, the definition of "the little guy" has altered dramatically throughout the century.

History of the parties aside, even if the majority of today's KKK have a distaste for the GOP, it wouldn't be saying much. They're political outsiders who, I can assure you, detest liberals and welcome a hatred for black people.

Duke's still around, of course. Zero influence on anything though, he's a fringe ****er as he should be. And yes, Duke's part of the Bannon crowd as opposed to the, say, McConnell/Ryan traditional core-GOP crowd.

Obviously.

No argument there. "Political outsiders" is pretty key, though.

But this doesn't strengthen any GOP argument that the KKK is an "anti-Republican organization, not an anti-black organization". The GOP would have a stronger argument in "The KKK hates black people, and they hate Republicans too." Though honestly, the second statement would need a qualifier. Not every KKK member hates Republicans, but hating black people is an essential prerequisite. Also, it's no secret that those with racist sentiments are more likely to vote Republican than Democrat these days.

Oh, of course the KKK's an anti-black organization, it's pretty much their key tenet. Anyone saying otherwise is high.

What I was getting at is they're against the GOP in terms of everyone else running in the 2016 primaries too (maybe Paul aside, there's probably some libertarian element to the group too). They got on the Trump train due to all the Bannon & Co ****, but yeah, the KKK has no love for the Romneys & McCains & Ryans of the world, what the party was just a single cycle ago before the Noo Yawk *****e came on the scene.

I somehow missed adding that this was a reference to a GOP proposed change to my state's social studies curriculum. They also have an issue with "core democratic values", because capitalization is apparently hard to understand. It just goes to show how much the GOP are willing to embrace white supremacy post Trump.

They are trying to white wash the history of the Klan.

Yeah, I looked it up, and apparently a senator in Michigan (state I grew up in), is editing their curriculum to teach that the KKK "was founded as an anti-Republican organization and not an anti-black organization". Actually, the KKK was founded as a movement against both, triggered by the Reconstruction policies enacted after the Civil War. Black people were given the rights to vote and hold office, ex-confederates were stripped of their rights to vote and hold office, and state legislators were reappointed. Predictably, many southerners were not thrilled with these policies.

The last two points might make it sound as though the KKK was only fighting against ex-Confederate disenfranchisement, but the Klan also vehemently championed white supremacy. Republican politicians (both black and white) were not the only people they killed; the KKK also targeted freed slaves who held no political power.

To say the KKK was founded simply as an anti-Republican organization would undoubtedly leave students with a confused perspective. It's basically akin to saying "the Civil War was fought over state's rights, not slavery". Or, "the Civil War was fought against Republican northerners, not black people." Yes, the Civil War was technically fought over state's rights - the most pressing and debated of which was a state's "right" to allow for slavery.

Woman attacks teen for being at a public pool because he "didn't belong there". She later attacks the cops who come to arrest her.

https://www.newsobserver.com/news/state/south-carolina/article213861024.html

She actually bites one of the cops yet somehow they didn't fear for their lives and she has no bullet holes in her, nor is she all lumped up in her mugshots...

That's odd. I wonder why they were not afraid. Suppose she had rabies. I guess we will never know why they didn't shoot to kill like they did with other people.

I see the lady who called the cops on the little girl selling water has resigned from her company after online backlash.

I don't usually like to see that kind of stuff but the kid was only 8 lol.

That story was so goddamn ridiculous, the woman's a horrible person. When bureaucratic regulation-hawks expand to going after kids with water & lemonade stands, something's wrong.

And apparently she runs some company selling weed for dogs, too, which just makes her all the more ridiculous.

Someone bought the kid 4 tickets to Disneyland as a "**** you" to the lady though, which is pretty rad.

Permit patty looked like one of those 'i would like to speak to your manager' types.

Way too many busy bodies out there that think the police are their personal enforces for whatever inane grievance they want handled.

I hated to keep dusting off this old Chestnut, but the POTUS has made them think they have carte blanche to do this.

This is what happens when your president is a racist and all around bigot.

There's been a good 4-5 of these stories in the past few month. Those bodycams are starting to show a different story.

Yep, the lady in Houston who accused the officer of sexual assault and this story as well, a preacher who blatantly lied about a stop: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.th...sident-claimed-he-was-racially-1826069258/amp

This is why body cams are so important, for not just when police do the wrong thing but when they are in the right and it's a "victim" who is wrong.
