Cory Booker and other Dems joined Republicans in voting down Bernie's proposal to import pharmaceuticals from Canada. Booker has received almost $300k in big pharma campaign contributions over the past 6 years. Sounds like a great Presidential contender for 2020!

I have never cared for him. He is a lightweight who doesn't understand that you don't need to raise your voice when speaking into a microphone.

So... NOT a "kaboom" what with the qualifier and all.

Sort of funny one of the few times I would actually agree with Ted Cruz who voted for this

Shut Up, Bernie Sanders

Political losses should yield a real examination of what went wrong, but Sanders is someone who, on par with a robot, just repeats what’s already been programmed. The man is not saying anything new or remotely insightful. Clinton performed far better than he arguably ever could have with a diverse coalition that he never enjoyed or made a real effort to build.

Will America really pay for the wall?

Shut Up, Bernie Sanders

curious. there's positive pickups from the issues raised by Sanders. it's more important that other interested parties who consider themselves DNC aligned pick up the ball and start campaigning locally. Way more grassroots outreach is needed- rural, urban and suburban.

DNC, getting a little feisty.

Is anyone else worried the Democrats run the risk of making Trump into a victim/hero of those voters who chose to cross over and vote for him?

There's a bit of "chicken littling" going on by reacting to everything he's done in the first five days of his administration.

Like there needs to be actual evidence of what he's doing is worsening the situation and not just the potential to.

It's just sooo much bad, though.

People can't seem to distinguish between a decision that is morally/ethically unacceptable and a decision that has caused measurably bad results. Instead whenever Trump does something questionable, but not patently moronic, people cry wolf the same way they would for one of his dangerous decisions. Folks do need to calm down, and rather focus their energy on criticizing and opposing the bad choices rather than just any choice Trump makes.

Exactly. I understand why the "alternative facts" caught so much wind as a soundbite. And him blabbering on about the election at this point is more of something we should just ignore unless he has receipts.

Stop covering his reactions to every SNL diss.

Trump knows the media will run with every little thing he does and says so by bombarding the airwaves with tidal waves of stupid the dangerous stuff can sneak past without so much as a glance.

Exactly this, people are spending their time and energy reacting with equal outrage to whatever statement Trump makes, and it's basically gaining so much momentum because despite what Trump or the large media houses say, they've got a very lucrative symbiotic relationship. Trump's infinite stupidity must be an absolute cash cow for them, their viewership has probably never been higher, and Trump knows he can abuse that by flooding people's attention spans with the most inane little things and they'll run with it for days.

Trump says he likes Cap'n Crunch more than Coco Pops and the media houses feel like they need to cover it for 72 hours and get panelists in to discuss such a controversial statement. People really need to try and discern what is and isn't crucial, and unfortunately they're out of practice since the media has been doing it for them for the last 30 years.

My students are looking at all of this through the lens of what they said was our "national identity" and they came up with 1. freedom 2. rights and 3. diversity. So every single aspect of Trump's presidency, as far as my students, will be looked at through those 3 things and how they are impacted by his policy. It is interesting as hell to listen to them discuss his Executive Orders.

Your students sound smarter than our Commander in Chief.
