I'd actually like to see Conduit in a movie one day. He's got a cool outfit and a personal connection to Superman in the comics.

Conduit is one of those characters that would be great for a live action reimagining because it could touch on Clark's past in Smallville while also giving a bit of mystery in the movie as to who the villain is. I could see him in a sequel if anything.

I just am hoping that the authority is nothing more than a cameo appearance in this movie and it actually has superman villains.

Honestly, while I do like Livewire, her design as a blue colored electrical power based villain, makes her awfully close to Electro from Amazing Spider-Man 2. I don't think it would work.

I think Livewire could work as a villain .

If the villain is portrayed well and is a threat audiences aren't gonna care all that much about her similarity to Electro's appearance from ASM 2.

If anything , his appearance in No Way Home is more of what The GA would remember more the ASM 2 which didn't exactly set the world on fire.

It would basically only be people in fandom who might care, and even then, I doubt anyone will care that much.

The problem I would see with Livewire, is if she were the sole villain of a Superman film, which I don't think she could be.

Team her up with another baddie, or have her be part of a group of baddies , then it would work imo.

I don't think the similarities between livewire and ASM2 electro are enough to rule her out. If anything she could be a secondary villain or a supergirl villain.

A movie from 10 years ago should rule her out? That doesnt make sense.

The thing about Livewire is that she starts out as the anti Daily Planet before becoming Supermans outright rival so she works two fold. Not to mention that she's a lively personality and isnt going from wimpy janitor to hungry electro villain. They also look nothing alike visually.

I have a feeling it’s going to go

superman legacy - The Authority
Superman legacy - warworld/Mongul (maybe with a new name? Or just give the part to Kalibak?)
Superman Legacy 3 - Brainiac

If we’re going to get The Authority, are we expecting every member to appear? Gunn’s great managing a variety of characters but it still might be a bit much.

- Jenny Sparks
- Midnighter
- Apollo
- Swift
- Jack Hawksmoor
- Jeroen Thornedike
- The Engineer

And since they’re not truly Superman villains, I’d still like to see characters like Luthor and one of his other rogues like Parasite, Toyman, or Atomic Skull. Hopefully the Authority aren’t the main antagonists.

For the 1st film, Imvho, it needs to be an earth based threat.
And it's all because of lex feeling threatened by Superman.
Either metallo or parasite, maybe both.

After that fails ( and we know it will ) at the end, lex reaches out and searches the stars for a way to defeat superman, and discovers Brainiac.

The more I read or watch videos on the Authority the more I like their potential. If Gunn truly makes Superman the Boy Scout again, the Authority will fit right into this movie. I think we we gonna get Jenny Sparks and Jack for Legacy. Apollo and Midnighter will be sidelined until their movie. I could see Jenny dying and Jack snapping at the end of the movie and Superman having to stop him.

Where do these rumors of The Authority come from? And who the hell are they?

They announced an Authority film and now rumors from pretty much everyone point to a couple of them being introduced in Legacy. Idk if any trades have alluded to them yet.

They're a group of people that more or less use force to save the world, but they also use force to get what they want out of people and situations. They're not bad guys, but they aren't all that good either. They'll do anything to save the most people or keep global relations under control.

I’m thinking (and this is who I would cast…)

Manchester black - Dan Stevens
Steel - Anna Diop
Lightray - Ashley Park
OMAC - Kia Stevens

I wouldn’t be surprised if Gunn amalgamates Manchester Black and Jenny Sparks.

Same with Swift and Hawkgirl.

Jenny Sparks is a souped up Livewire. Manchester Black is an Elite character. I like him but he has nothing to do with the Authority.

He was basically part of a revamped version of the Authority during the Warworld Saga. (Which if you haven’t read, I would highly recommend.)

Ok I will check it out. Maybe save him for the Authority movie. Manchester Black is a really good anti hero. The more I hear about the Authority and the fact that Gunn seems to want this movie to be original and not the basic Superhero intro. This movie gets more intriguing by the day.

Was Parasite a human before becoming the beast? I really like the character from I have seen and would love for them to be a villain that Supes and The Authority have disagreements over how to handle while they make their own mistakes fighting him, causing him to become stronger.

yeah that might be cool. Manchester is not a gendered name after all.

Billie piper would be a fun gender swapped Manchester

I think its pretty safe to say we will see our classic, boyscout, superman on one side and the Authority on the other.

Apparently they will be harsher than Batman.
They will have no problem killing bad guys, or at the very least, severely injuring them.

And what's bad about it is the public will love them.

I imagine with The Authority we might not get major screen time for everyone in the gang, some might sit back a bit but their presence will still be known. That way we can still have a lively world but also not cluttering it with too many characters. It's not like everyone in GOTG is the main character but they get their time to shine.

I think Gunn will know how to balance it well, which is exciting because it means more characters we haven't seen before.

Currently reading Supes and The Auth. man its so nicely illustrated.

Dan Stevens would be ideal for MB but how about Radcliffe or even Anson Boon who played Rotten in the Sexy sex Pistols series

The more I read about the Authority the more I am looking forward to see them meeting Supes. I see an original Superhero story with Legacy. I wonder what villain will attract the eye of Superman and the Authority? Braniac perhaps…….

After finishing Supes and The authority I am left even more confused.

I am not a big comic reader of the weekly or monthly issues, I just tend to read the big one offs that are suggested, pick up pieces of info such as Supes and his son, then I just tend to sit back and day dream about Supes.

Supes and The authority seems like it wanted to be both an original story but was also tied to the ongoing comics.

From what I could gather shouldn't we be getting The Elite first?

Any ELI5 info would be good.

Idk it it matters tbh. And If the Elite play no part in anything in the DCU then it really doesn’t matter lol

Some rumors going around suggest they may conflate the teams. Maybe have Black and Sparks be siblings. Idk how true they are though. I’d dwindle the amount of team members either way.
