Return of the Jedi is good except the Ewoks, who are cute and cuddly as all hell in their own right, but they don't do it for me. But whatever. The beginning of the film until the end of the speeder bike chase is just awesome. Then of course the Death Star II assault and the lightsaber duel and Emperor scenes.

I never found the Ewoks cute...especially when they were brutally beating stormtroopers. :oldrazz:

I'll take one thousand ewoks over one Jar Jar. :o

Any day of the week.

okay, I was maybe a little harsh on the 'poor sibling' in great trilogies but my main point still stands, toy story imho is the only trilogy ever to delivery three brilliant movies out of three, some will say lord of the rings delivered three brilliant movies and that is a fair opinion but I definately felt the third was no where near as good as the first two.

I don't get the Return of the Jedi hate. I honestly and genuinely don't get it.

I frickin' LOVE Return of the Jedi. It's my second favorite Star Wars movie (Empire being my #1).

even as a kid I was groaning at the ewoks scene and as an adult I find ROTJ pretty much unwatchable, like the new trilogy I start the dvd and about 15 mins in I have to stop the movie as I can't watch anymore

I have a theory that when the toys were in the fiery pit of hell, and they accepted death, they actually burnt up to a crisp and died. However, through some connection, they shared an afterlife vision of the aliens saving them with the giant claw, and living happily ever after with the little girl. That is their heaven. They fully passed on yet. There's no way the little alien dudes would have been able to use the big claw and find them in a huge pit of flames, right in the nick of time. The aliens died when they got hit by the truck. They were part of the toy heaven also.

please tell me you're joking. i can't process sarcasm at 3am

Back in 1995 I was thinking why doesn't Toy Story look more real? We've seen what ILM could do on Jurassic Park in terms of realism, why can't Pixar do better. It took one animated films later to show that CG animated films could look more real, it was Ants, and a month or two after that a Bugs Life came out with cartoony ants. But you know, A Bugs life is a better film than Ants because it has better characters and a better story. While I was at the theater watching How to Train your Dragon, my cousin made a comment to me about how Dreamworks animation looks more real, as Pixar looks more cartoony as regards to UP.

What hurts the first two Toy Story films for me is the bad looking human characters. Aesthetically it's hard for me to watch the first two Toy Story's. That's why I didn't buy them on Blu-ray.....I guess that makes me a snob.

You're not a snob.

Actually Pixar can make more realistic looking characters, but its their choice not to because of Uncanny Valley. Its the reason why almost all their characters aren't realistic looking. It has been discussed in a book called The Pixar Story.

Umm that's a pretty deep observation there. I think your looking too far into this, it's only a kids movie.

This is like the funniest thing I've read all week. Thank you

Reminds me of that Garfield theory where they were saying that the strips were all figments of Garfield's imagination and that he was literally starving to death in an empty house because Jon abandoned him.
