Comedy Disney Prepping Live Action "Cruella de Vil" Film

Most likely. I mean this is Emma Stone after all. She can mutilate puppies and will still come off as likable and/or forgivable.

I'm not seeing Emma as a young Cruella to be honest. Why even go the Maleficent route?

Because every villain now is just ~misunderstood~. :p

And I don't like this norm they're going with lately. Gone are the day's when a villain was just a villain you know.

I'm sure she could probably do it, but yeah...some villains are just bad people. Not all of them were innocent once.

Emma Stone is cute, but she's no Glenn Close. :o

Stone would have to watch all seven seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race to be able to emulate that sort of fierceness. :o

Glenn was perfect as Cruella. If Stone is taking on the role she's got a tough act to follow.

True, but let's not forget that Glenn Close wasn't the original Cruella.

I think Stone is a great choice. I'm not terribly interested in the film but it will be nice to see Stone starring in a would-be blockbuster and not just playing the cute girlfriend, yet again.

I would rather see a live action "Rescuers Down Under" than this movie, and I don't wanna see that at all. :o

Okay maybe a little. :p

Lol true, and animated Cruella was awesome, but we're talking live action movie here, and Glenn owns that. Emma has her work cut out for her living up to that standard Glenn set.

Glenn Close must be puking in her breakfast at this news.

Ha, nah I bet she is just laughing and saying "woof woof" over and over lol.

No in all seriousness, it's an out there casting idea but it definitely wouldn't stop me from going to see the movie. I'm intrigued by it

is the plan from Disney that all those young kids will grove up on their new movies where all the classic villains are antiheroes, victims and misunderstood people?

This is gonne be ten times worse than Maleficent. I didn't think it was possible.

If it's like Maleficent, it'll suck. Let me guess, she used to love dogs until one bit her vagina. A Dalmatian in fact, and that's what starts her animal cruelty or something stupid we're supposed to sympathize with. And it'll be feminist. Haha. Gotta have that nowadays.

Glenn Close's performance aside, the live action 101 Dalmatians isn't exactly a sacred cow. I think Disney even forgot that it exists, since it hasn't even been released on Blu-ray. The casting for it was more or less spot on, but it's pretty boring. As crazy as it sounds, by removing the talking animals, they got rid of most of the characterization of the animated film. At least the upcoming live action Jungle Book is keeping that angle.

Ahah! Agreed.

God... the point to a lot of stories are these characters are already fully formed and that the events of the film help change and/or define them. Their backstories weren't important for that character and none of us ever wondered it. It's just ridiculous. It's already a terrible idea.

The only Disney villain that really deserves their own spinoff is this guy:

And he'd have to be played by James Woods.

If you mean by an Ancient Greek villain, then yes.

Granted... if anything I would want to see THAT Hades in a spin off so I do agree.

Im not feeling this. They need an older actress to bring the gravitas to this role.
