Disney Reviving 'Chip 'n Dale' for a Live-Action Feature

HOW????

What kind of dark deals were made in order to get this movie made. It makes Ready Player One and Space Jam 2 look pathetic.

Enjoyed the movie. All the body horror of Roger Rabbit, none of the sexiness.

Batman vs ET killed me. HOW is Ugly Sonic getting three scenes and not just a cameo???

Disney made a mistake not releasing this theatrically because it would’ve made bank. This ended up being so much better than it had any right to be! Hilarious, mind blowing cameos, clever writing. 9/10 laughed my behind off throughout, would pay to see Batman vs ET that nearly killed me.

I keep seeing this point being made and I think people are delusional. I LOVE that so much effort and production value went into making this more than just your typical streamer-movie of the week, because this is miles ahead of a lot of Netflix’s output. I can’t for the life of me, however, imagine this having anything less than a whiff of a box office run like Popstar. This is going to do wonders for Disney+, and I hope the lesson is that they pour as much talent and as many resources into future D+ originals.

Really enjoyed this movie. Loved all the cameos but have no idea how they got all those deals done.

I do find it funny when people complain about the lack of good quality streaming movies, but when one does comes along, they complain it should have been in theaters. Lol

I loved it. It has had a lot of comparisons to Roger Rabbit because of the way the world works, but the story and humor reminds me a lot more like Wreck-It-Ralph, just with cartoons instead of video games. Except I enjoyed it quite a bit more than Ralph and about a gazillion times more than the sequel. I laughed a ton during this movie.

My only major issue is that the animation quality on the 3D/2D hybrid characters (most notably Chip) was pretty bad. For all the jokes about the "CGI treatment", Dale looks much better than Chip does. But the script is top notch stuff.

Omg this was fantastic! Best Disney (animated?) film ive seen in a while. This came outta nowhere. Its got very clever writing, meta jokes and fun cameos. I remember watching the cartoon reruns as a kid in the early 90s but i was never in love with it, this was such a smart way of bringing these obscure Disney characters back to modern day. This is truly a movie kids AND grown adults could appreciate. Why wasnt this released in theaters?!

You don’t really need to know the cartoon for this film either which is a great benefit since probably only people my age that grew up during the Disney Afternoon would be. And even then Rescue Rangers wasn’t as memorable as some of their other shows like Ducktales or Darkwing Duck or Gargoyles or probably even Talespin. I remembered the main characters and Fat Cat and not much else (such as specific episode plots).

Wow! I didn’t expect to love this movie so much. The writers definitely put in a lot of thought & care into making this. A cute, funny film that feels like a spin-off/spiritual successor to Who Framed Roger Rabbit

The voice acting was top notch and there were many funny scenes. Love all the cameos and Easter eggs found throughout the movie. Disney really went all out for a movie that went straight to streaming. Hope we get more quality movies like this.

This was quite possibly my most favorite Easter egg that had me burst out laughing:

Ducktales and Darkwing Duck were more memorable shows. Gargoyles probably more by people on this board. I did Kind of want the Talespin version of Baloo and Shere Khan to show up.

I vaguely remember Rescue Rangers growing up which why I didn't have much interest in this before, but wow what a surprise and its crazy to me that we can get this kind of quality for a Disney Plus streaming movie which hasn't had a good track record lately and not for something like Space Jam 2.

Seriously, this was like everything that movie should have been and while I didn't love it as much as Roger Rabbit even, I have to admit that there was a lot of genius creativity on display here that I definitely wasn't expecting.

So many cool references which I know some of them I missed, but
Ugly Sonic is the one that had my dying every time lol.

That's because deep down, we all know that a lot of streaming originals are not good enough to be released in theaters.

Yeah that’s why it’s important to leave the streaming originals, that are actually good, on streaming. The increase in quality will be good for competition.

Or we could just wait for the streaming bubble to burst like it is now with Netflix and get some good films back in theaters again :D

Sneaked up on me forgot about this traiker was trash and not a Mullaney fan but found myself laughing more than I thought. The cameos were insane had to pause a few times to catch em all. Ugly Sonic Wow lollolol. Will Arnett was perfect as Old Peter Pan. Credits were gold also. More of this Disney +

A video on TikTok stated that they were able to use characters like "Ugly Sonic" as it falls under the category of "parody" and putting bags under Sonic's eyes and giving him a beer belly was enough to differentiate it and not be considered copyright infringement.

Just finished it and overall I enjoyed it even though im over doing all movies like this and pairing them w/live action actors. I think it would've been better for this to be in the animated world.

Wasn't a fan of what they did w/Gadget since she was always my fave but the cgi upgrades, selling toons into knock offs was a very fun/original idea.

How Disney got so many studio's to agree w/cameos....kudos.

I mean....was this started as a streaming movie or was it one of MANY films that Disney pushed to D+ (I feel at this point they've done it to more of theirs compared to WB which is funny and a whole nother post in its own)

It was a streaming movie. Disney's theatrical strategy isn't exactly subtle, and this doesn't match the strategy.
