Well, regarding the Wolf,

Red is seen wearing the Wolf's pelt later on in the story, so he dies at least. You're right in that we're not shown HOW the Wolf dies, but there's no reason to assume they don't do just as the grandmother suggests. But maybe in this version he isn't killed - I mean, he is Johnny Depp. But the Baker has to slice him open to get Red and the Grandmother out...

if they keep in the part with Cinderella's stepmother mutilating her daughters' feet in order to get the gold slipper to fit. That's going to be very hard to pull off in a movie without freaking out the kids. On stage you can just suggest it, but not so much on film. That's another part that might shock parents who thought this was going to be just a cute little fairy tale musical.

You're not missing something, Agony (Reprise) was cut as well as a couple others. My guess is probably pacing/flow issues is a reason

I agree it IS a great song ("Dwarfs are very upsetting....") but I think I can kind of understand why it's not in.

To me it's main purpose is to show the unfaithfulness mainly of Cinderella's Prince. However, we're going to get that with "Moments in the Woods" and *that* is far more critical as it's kind of a pivotal moment with the Baker's Wife and what happens to her after that "moment". Because of that, I think Agony (Reprise) becomes a bit of fluff piece that - to help keep the pace and flow going - isn't really needed in the movie

That's just my personal view.

iTunes UK must've jumped the gun/wasn't supposed to have those up yet and so got told to take them down.

Browsing Twitter now, I'm seeing lots of love for Streep, Kendrick and Pine, in that order. I think Meryl's a lock for a supporting actress nomination, but I'm guessing the other two are probably just gonna be Golden Globe candidates.

I feel bad for Blunt. I thought this was her chance to finally get an Oscar nod. It seems like she was good but not really a lead? I'm happy that Pine is getting recognized though and Kendrick and Streep were awesome as expected.

Yeah, aside from the Witch, the Baker's Wife is usually the standout role, so I'm surprised, too. But I guess maybe they gave a little more screentime to the fairytale characters here? I have seen her mentioned as one of the standouts a few times, so it doesn't seem like she does a lackluster job or anything. Something must've changed in the translation from screen to stage. I could still see her getting another Globe nod though, at least.

Standout or not, even in the musical, the Baker's Wife is sort of a supporting lead, and more connective tissue for the story than a particularly interesting character in her own rite. She echoes and reinterprets ideas and themes introduced by other characters more than anything.
