Disney sets Rob Marshall to adapt "Into the Woods"

The problem for me is that Depp doesn't look like a wolf. He looks like a guy in a hairy pimp suit.

Depp looks like he got his costume from Party City.

Finally a real trailer. Excited to see what it brings.

lol "The Other Prince".

Love the trailer, gave me chills and everything. I'm starting to feel a little bit better about The Wolf (zoot suit and all). And have to say that Meryl's "Stay a child..." at the end of the trailer?

Can't wait to see this in theaters :woot:

Great trailer. Really pumped for this now. Love that they are not hiding from it being a musical.

Agreed. Of course, I guess if anyone were to fully embrace that their movie is a musical, Disney being it makes the most sense ;)

Well she sang before, in Mamma Mia.
I saw Bond singing in the trailer for Mamma Mia, and decided I'd never watch it. :funny:

Yeah, that is exactly what I told my brother. If anyone can embrace the musical, it is Disney. It is their thing. :yay:

Haha, Pierce Brosnan shouldn't quit his day job. He made Russell Crowe in Les Mis look like David Bowie (or "insert someone you consider a good singer").

Streep can hold her own though.

I have seen Les Mis, so all I can say is good lord.

I like Crowe a lot in Les Miz. Still, Brosnan is awful.

I remember noting this with the featurette that was released a couple weeks ago, but listening to the trailer (again, and again, and again :oldrazz:) reminded me of it. I love Pine's delivery of the "I was raised to be charming, not sincere." line. Just kind of in that 'well duh' way *lol*

I also love Red's "Oh dear, how uneasy I feel." with it's slight dead pan nature.

Is it Christmas yet?? :oldrazz:

That is fantastic. :funny:

Really neat trailer. Just about sold me on the film.

As a side note, Anna Kendrick. :hrt:

She looks absolutely stunning in the trailer.

It bugs me that they didn't use any coloring on Depp's face. They just put some whiskers on him. They should have at least colored his face to match his fur, because he still just looks like some guy in a furry pimp suit. He doesn't look like a wolf at all.

I wonder if they keep in the part where Red and her grandmother fill his cut-open stomach with rocks, then sew him back up again and watch as he tries to run away and then dies? Seems pretty horrible but that's the way he dies in the show and in the original story...

I know the dialogue is there in the play (Granny saying they should do that), but are there productions of the play where they've actually 'shown it'? As far as I can recall (though admittedly it's been a couple years since I've seen it on stage) the times I've seen it it's just discussed by Granny as the focus turns to the Baker outside the house.

Anywho, the film is Rating PG for "thematic elements, fantasy action and peril, and some suggestive material". So my guess is no, they won't show it - but they may at least leave the dialogue in about them wanting to do it.
I could be wrong though

Someone on IMDb noticed that youtube had a 30 sec. spot (that has some different stuff from what we've seen so far) in front of some videos as the typical youtube 'advertisement'. I managed to pull it and upload it to my own youtube account:
