Disney's Frozen - Part 1

I ended up really liking this movie. There was just a surprisingly relatable and realistic aspect to nearly all of the characters. The two sisters really felt like someone you could know. It was refreshing to see, especially with female characters.

The early marketing for this film more or less went out of its way to make me dislike it I felt. Both my girlfriend and I were hardcore eyerolling when the first teaser was just the moose and the snowman and then the designs of the film just felt like the same stale Glen-Kean-faces.

We both really enjoyed it though. Even Olaf ended up being surprisingly great. While I am hopeful that disney will change up the style a little bit in future films (MOANA is apparently making use of the paperman technology so there is hope) the animation here was quite rich and this movie was a real experience.

The movie really did go against a lot of the expectations one might have with this kind of story but it all felt quite natural and not so much in a winking way for the most part.

All and all, great film.

You haven't had what since Mufasa died?

Spoilers for a Disney movie. :)

Yeah, I really wanted to see her turn a bit darker. They didn't even really flirt with the concept which I think makes Anna's journey less fulfilling because ultimately she never really saves Elsa. Even when Elsa is being attacked she uses her powers for defensive purposes only and is reluctant to use them. I understand the need to have Elsa be equally likeable as her sister but there should have been a moment, even a fleeting glimpse of what should could become.

That could have been nice. That moment when she was at crossbowpoint could have had her suddenly resolve to action before the chandalier came down at her.

Damn, that was quick! :funny:

Yep!! Quicker than Elsa and Anna letting themselves go at a chocolate fondue party!! :awesome:

In truth, even though I try to change it, I prefer X Knight as my name.

So........I'm back!!

the toys are selling like hot cakes here in aus atm
they were sold out of the barbie style dolls on boxing day (the day it came out here) and anything else with frozen on it for that matter

it is impossible to find elsa for infinity too unless u buy the two pack, plenty of single pack anna's though XD

good to see disney has a real hit on their hands in terms of merchandise

as it should be............:o

jk........Anna's adorable, too. so I hope both princesses are doing good merchandise wise.

lmao! Even though I love Anna, I'm not surprised to hear she isn't selling as well. Elsa is the cooler one, after all. And not in an icy way, but in a legitimately cooler way.

it's because she has the powers.......it's all about the powers............

Elsa got the best song in the movie as well, but quite frankly both sisters are terrific, and Anna is more adorable than her older sis.

Anyone else think Elsa's singing voice was a bit... Sharp? Like good, but there were some notes in there that legit hurt my ears. Lol who voiced her anyways?

Yeah, considering it's an adventure game of sorts. I mean, would play as Mary Jane over Spider-Man in one of his games if they could help it?

Idina Menzel. She was the original Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) in the stage musical 'Wicked'.

But let it go was hard to sit through because of how sharp those notes were.

Yeah, it did have some sharp notes. Menzel's singing voice tends to do that. With loud theater sound, it is hard on the ears. But it's a great song.

Yeah, I spent the whole song wishing I could adjust the eq on that thing.

Yeah, I LOVE Let It Go and listen to it on repeat all the time, but it sounded pretty harsh in the theater.

:lmao:

She has one of the best voices in the world.

I have seen it thrice now. Never got that. And I to listen to it on repeat.

Saw this film two nights ago. To my surprise, I really really liked it. Thought all the songs were great as well as the story and characters. Great experience overall
