I'm glad Elsa's character was more of a tragic figure, that had the potential to become the villain but turns out to be the victim as a result of her inability to control her emotions and as a result her powers manifest violently. However it's the love of her sister that helps her to thaw the kingdom . As Well as her frozen heart.

Box Office Mojo reported that Frozen's 12 mil is the 4th best 8th week performance in history.

impressive!! and it looks like it's passed the $330m mark, too!

I figured it would fall below the $10m mark this weekend, given the new shows coming out and the new animated film, Nut Job, or whatever it is.

Found this on Tumblr, and I thought it is very well done:

Birthday party, not baptism. :cwink:

And yeah, I wondered why they didn't use her formal attire, but then remembered she doesn't bow in the movie...or in that really horrible dvd sequel thing that I may or may not have seen...........:ninja:

I saw it this morning. It was in one of the largest theaters and it was completely sold out. :wow:

Great movie. Listening to the soundtrack now.

Since you're a Broadway enthusiast, I thought that you will love Frozen's soundtrack since it is composed by a husband-and-wife team who did the score for The Book of Mormons and Avenue Q.

Plus it had Idina Menzel, who I saw in Rent and Wicked on Broadway, Jonathan Groff, who I saw in Spring Awakening. There were a ton of Broadway people in it, that was really cool.

I read that Josh Gad as Olaf was in Book of Mormons as well. I also love Idina Menzel in both Rent and Wicked, so I'm super happy to see her success right now as Elsa in this amazing movie. Btw, I think Kristen Bell should do a Broadway musical someday; I'm in love with her voice as Ana.

Fixed. She was Becky in the musical version of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer on Broadway. She was also in the off-Broadway musical Reefer Madness (and later reprised her role in Showtime's movie version).

But I agree, I'd like to see her do another one.

Yes, Book of Mormon (also co-written by Matt Stone and Trey Parker) has Josh Gad and it's hilarious. Check out on YouTube "Man Up" from the show. It's like if Olaf tried singing a song from South Park.

It is hilarious.

Thanks for the correction!

I heard The Book of Mormons is very good, but unfortunately I haven't had the chance to see the musical. They're here in LA but with my time occupied by work and family I just don't have the time to see it.

I've very excited that Disney has announced their intention to convert Frozen into a musical, and I think it will be successful just like The Lion King.

Saw this yesterday. I enjoyed it but I think it's overrated.

fantastic!! glad you liked it, danoyse!!

and I'm surprised to hear that it was still sold out at your showing!!

:wow: indeed.

oh, and I didn't know Gad and Bell both has some Broadway experience.

you could really hear the Broadway influence on the film.

I have a feeling you're going to regret posting that. :hehe:

And I respectfully disagree. I think it deserves every single amount of praise it gets.

Doesn't this movie make Idina Menzel the first actress to play two Disney princesses? She was the one who married Prince Edward in Enchanted, making her the actual princess in that story. Then, in Frozen, she's Princess Elsa. I don't think any other woman has play two.

Good news! ^^

I don't think her role in Enchanted counts as an official Disney princess, though.

except I'm not sure if it's real news or speculation.

I read the link they posted to the interview that Iger did.

and I didn't see anywhere where he specifically said they're planning a sequel.

Iger mentioned the broadway adaptation. and the article said Frozen has good franchise potential beyond the movie.

but I didn't see anything about a sequel.

so.....I'm not sure.......
