I wish they'd release the upcoming Broadway show on Blu-Ray as well. I doubt it's coming up to my area and, if it does, I probably wouldn't have the money to see it. And I'm sure there are many others out there who would love to but won't get the chance.

Went to the sing along with my sister. Was so fun, bit weird at first maybe us Brits aren't use to sing a longs lol ended up only me and my sister singing along in the end lol

But any reason to see this film again and I'll go!

Also got a bit arty this weekend. Can't help it, love Elsa.

I'd love for that, too.

And Beauty and the Mermaid shows, too.

I forgot who said they wanted a reprise of "Do you want to build a snowman?" in the end, but here's the Lopezes' responses to that inquiry.

“DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN?”: FAN-WRITTEN REPRISE
Kristen: It's funny, because that fan is doing something lyrically similar to what I had pitched at the very last screening. Because we were really writing up until the last minute. I pitched doing a reprise of "Snowman" at the very end of the movie — just at that moment where they're about to ice skate, having Olaf fall apart, and having Anna and Elsa turn to each other and sing: "Do you want to build a snowman?" "Come on, you know I do." "Together as a family, you know we'll always be, me and yoooou!" But they did it orchestrally, and I think that was a much more nuanced way to do it.
Bobby: And personally — I mean, I know people have reacted well to the video that's out there, but I think that if you watch it in the flow of the movie, it would be jarring to have them break into song at that moment. Now, on the stage, you might want to have a song there, because you can't have close-ups. There's no delicate shot of Elsa crying and hugging the frozen Anna. So you'd need to accomplish the close-up with a song onstage.
Kristen: So put a pin in that!

that was me asking for it.

so it seems there's a chance they'll add a reprise for the stage version?

yay!!

and I think it would be more appropriate when Elsa's holding frozen Anna, instead of when they're ice skating together at the end.

Elsa really needs a "tender" moment and a reprise of Snowman at that sad moment would offer that.

If you go to the link in my post, you will see a fan-made video where the Frozen fan sang the reprise, which elicited the responses from the Lopezes.

ok, I'll give it a listen later.

I'm just glad that they are at least entertaining the prospect of adding it to the stage version.

I'd also like a song similar to Menken's Love Can't Be Denied.

I listened to that and it's such a lovely song. with a little tweaking of the lyrics, you could have applied a similar song to the sisterly love between Elsa and Anna.

so, hopefully, a similar ballad type song will be added to the stage version, too.

Apparently they've added a bit to The Lion King on Broadway where a character tells Simba to "let it go" and sings it to the tune of the song. :funny:

They most likely will. All of the stage adaptations have added new songs. Beauty and the Beast added so many that I'm actually disappointed when I watch the movie and remember those songs aren't going to be there.

The upcoming stage version of Aladdin has added back "Proud of Your Boy", which everyone was pretty heartbroken over cutting from the film, as it was one of Howard Ashman's final songs.

and Mermaid added some nice new songs to the stage version, too. Like the song that the sisters and Flounder sing, She's In Love.

also, Beauty eventually added A Change In Me, cuz, if you think about it, animated Belle never really had a proper "solo" song.

talk about cross over synergy...........:woot:

Well, they always had that scene where Zazu sings a Disney song when he's in the cage and Scar tells him to sing something. In the movie, he sings "It's a Small World," and Scar yelled "Anything but THAT!!"

When Lion King first opened on Broadway, they changed it to "Be Our Guest" because that was their other show at the time.

After Beauty and the Beast closed, they changed the song to "Supercalifraglisticexpialidocius", since Mary Poppins was on Broadway by then.

Lion King on stage is AMAZING. We saw it in standing room when it first opened, and all of the 'animals' made their entrance from right behind us. It was so cool. We even got attacked by the hyenas during "Be Prepared".

There's another funny part when the set changes before "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" and Zazu yells, "But this wasn't in the film!!" :funny:

hah! :woot:

they really need to release these Broadway shows on DVD.

Doubtful. They make too much money keeping them on stage. Lion King has been on Broadway for 17 years now and it's still playing sold out shows.

A bunch of pics from the event.
Is that Sarah Hyland in the last pic?

That looks like her. She's a former "Annie", so she's a theater kid too.

A short video of Idina Menzel's performance of Let It Go:

I wish it were longer.
