As for Broadway shows being on DVD, that very rarely happens. Sondheim and Lloyd Webber have done it, as well as a few others, but overall the producers want you to pay to see it on stage. It's a lot more common with plays.

The song itself isn't that long, so I really hope they'll let Idina sings the whole song. But Oscar will likely shorten it, then let a winner give a ten-minute acceptance speech later.

The Oscars are still desperate to appeal to the mainstream populous for ratings, though, and the Frozen soundtrack did top the charts in a pretty big way, so maybe, just maybe, they'll let the song stay as is.

I hope so. One of the beauty about the song is its lyrics, which tracks Elsa when she was feeling lost and alone early on, to feeling empowered and freed later in the song. It'd be a shame if they force Idina to shorten it at all.

In South Korea, Frozen has won the weekend of 2/7 - 2/9 again. And I read an online article from China that said that even though Frozen was opened against other China-produced films that had wider releases, ever since 2/5 when it premiered Frozen has been adding more and more screens due to overwhelming business, and its user rating in Chinese sites have jumped from 8.4 to 8.5, and seems to be increasing upward. Looks like even China is embracing this movie.

Nobody's going to "force" idina to do anything, she can always refuse to perform if she doesn't like any changes I suppose. But the Oscars are always tight on time and it's pretty rare that a song that wasn't a smash hit single is performed in its complete form. There are four other songs that also are nominated and they just don't have the time. Heck, some years they've done just one montage where each song got only one verse and I think one year they didn't perform them at all.

My guess is they'll do the first verse of the opening, the first verse of the song, the bridge, and the last verse.

Looking at the nominees for best song, combined playing time comes out to about 20 minutes. Considering how long winded the Oscars end up, what's 20 minutes?

They do full versions some years, I remember when "Blame Canada" was nominated for the South Park movie, they did a full production. Not sure about the other songs that year, I wasn't really interested in the category and was only checking the Oscars sporadically to see the winners.

I think 1 billion is a real possibility, since it's still not opened in Japan yet. But on Instagram, the hashtag for Japanese title of Frozen has already gotten quite busy lately. I think it shows that there is an awareness for Frozen in Japan even though it's still a month away.
