...I'm just wondering how she's going to convince us she's a guy. This can either be really cool or "LMAO! "ARE YOU F**KING BLIND!".

Add a little bit of imagination here:

Zhang-Ziyi,0.jpg

Have you never seen Chinese opera where the men dress in drag and vice versa? There are some oddly "pretty looking" chinese men that can pass as female, so it makes sense that she could go the other route.

is that Bellucci? YOWZA! :eek::D

Ziyi is real pretty, but i agree with the others that it will be a tough make-up job to make her look like a boy. even by Asian standards Ziyi is too fine boned to pass for a young man-- unless your talking about someone who hasnt hit puberty.

personally, i think Li Gong is prettier and can pull off the androgynous Mulan better.

^Just say she's hiding gunpowder. :o

She's also beautful, but it'd be a bit harder to hide these...

hey which makes for broader physique overall ;)

i was basing it more on bone structure. Li Gong is pretty enough for Mulan as a lady but has the bone structure to pass for a man with the right make-up.

Heh just as bad :O

That was my initial reaction too. Although keep in mind, we've seen such wildly varied interpretations of the Seven Samurai (Guns of the Magnificent Seven, Battle Beyond the Stars, Bug's Life) remaking that classic film is hardly sacrilege anymore.

I'll tell you one thing, though...

I love her :(

Dude, that is true.
And I love A Bug's Life

Zhang aiyi is so cue i want to give her a big hug and make sweet love to her in my basement under candle light

Now this is one I would be interested in. It could easily translate to live-action, unlike some of the more fantasy-oriented features. In the right hands, Mulan could be epic.

Jennifer Lawrence for Mulan. :o

On a serious note, consider me pumped. I've been waiting for a live action adaptation of this one. I hope they do it right.

Didn't they have a live-action Mulan movie a few years back?
