Disney's live-action "Mulan"

Well, that may have to do with Fox's prior deal with HBO standing in the way of that. As far as I know, Disney couldn't announce New Mutants for Disney+ given that, per the HBO deal, it would have to go to HBO Max instead. But then, since it's not HBO or Warner's film, they couldn't make that call.

Yeah clearly they need help with the light bill for Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland because they can’t be serious.

30 bucks each time to watch this movie but OG Mulan I can watch anytime at my leisure. I’m good.

What about for the next Star Wars or MCU movie

So...it’s come to this.

$30 is a cheap price to pay to watch it once and at home in safety.

Compare it to waiting until next year, paying $20 to watch it once, and paying for gas, and putting up with fellow moviegoers and their eccentricities and potential sickness or psychosis.

Hope they do this with Black Widow.

How is $30 cheap to watch it? Again unless you have a people pitching in or a family, how is it cheap?
It's not. I keep seeing "when you factor in my wife, my mother, my father, my daughter, my son, my son's friend, my sons friends friend, my dog, and popcorn, it adds up". That's a lame reason.

Yeah if youre a parent and youre paying for you, your partner, and your 2 kids. Or if it's a date thing and one individual person is paying for both tickets. Then it's a good deal.

But other than that not really. It's not "cheap" other than that.

A movie ticket at my theater costs $20 and I have to drive 25 miles there and back with multiple stoplights in-between which means I spend at least $5 in gas.

So I can pay $25 to drive 30 minutes, watch it once with no food, having to put up with fellow moviegoers and their eccentricities and potential sicknesses or psychosis, and sit in a theater seat.

Or I can pay 30, stay home and safe, and watch it in my pajamas in bed, with any food I want.

Pass. Will wait till they just stream it without the premium price. Or Blu-Ray. If they ever do release their Disney+ titles to Blu-Ray.

Have they done that yet? In the back of my mind, I've been wondering if stuff like The Mandalorian would ever get a physical release. At least with some Netflix shows like Stranger Things or Orange is the New Black, those do eventually get a physical release.

OK but that's you. You didn't say "cheap for me" you said "cheap. " Most people don't have those circumstances to watch a movie in theaters

On another note: are you in America? Because nowhere in America have I heard of paying $20 for an average movie ticket

Its way too expensive. That's literally the price of 3 movie tickets, so I'm gonna have to pass. I'll watch it when it comes to blu ray if it's not in theaters.
As a one-time it might be. But if you’re a family of 2 or 3, $30 to watch it multiple times in a 48 hour period is a steal. You’re basically only paying for one and a half tickets at a theater rate while also not having to worry paying theater prices for popcorn or having your experience ruined by a bad audience.

Yeah, if I’m paying $30 for any movie at home I better own that to put on anytime I want.

The point of paying what I do at the theatre is for the big screen experience. I don’t care how good your home entertainment system is, home is not a big screen experience.

How many times are you gonna watch a movie in 24 hours?

And everyone keeps mentioning concessions like you have to buy them at the theater

I called it months ago that this would happen, when you're right, you're right.

I also think an important thing to remember that some might be forgetting is that they are charging people this when you still aren't getting the real movie going experience unless your one of those lucky rich people who just so happens to have a home theater system there house somewhere. Paying $30 bucks or more at the theater isn't such bad thing IMO, because at least your watching a movie on the bigscreen with surround sound and everything, but just to watch it at home it just doesn't seem worth it to me.

So from what I'm gathering, if you pay $20+ for ticket(s), you HAVE to buy concessions at the theater, have to drive a long way, you have to pay for parking...then this $30 for a one time watch makes sense.

That's a very niche group of people

It really just seems that the people happy about this were people who were tired of going to the movies anyway.
