Disney's Peter Pan and Wendy from David Lowry

I'm still mad that they're releasing a David Lowery movie that won't be shown in theaters, but stil, I NEED a trailer!

Um.. "dark and action packed" was the definition of the last Pan movie lol

Peter Pan & Wendy Footage Description: Disney Returns To Neverland [D23]

The footage starts off, rather appropriately, with Captain Hook asking, "Tell me, how did you come to Neverland?" We then see Wendy on a windy shore as she encounters the Lost Boys on a cliff — and this time, there are some girls among them. This is even remarked upon with the line, "You're not all boys." Which elicits the response, "So?"

The trio of Darling kids we know from the original animated classic meet Peter Pan in their pajamas and fly off to Neverland from Big Ben, the face of the clock shattering as they take flight from it. Pirates try to shoot them out of the sky with cannons, offering a sense of danger. Hook taunts, "Wendy Moira Angela Darling, where is Peter Pan?" Our hero then jumps in slow motion off a cliff towards a pirate ship floating in the air. Classic stuff! It has somewhat of a "Pirates of the Caribbean" vibe to it.

Wouldn't expect anything less from David Lowery.

Hopefully, this will be up there with his Pete Dragon movie.

Pete's Dragon is arguably one of the few live-action Disney remakes that I'd actually consider decent. They did something different with it and not just retreaded the original, so I'm really hoping it's the same case here if the footage description is to be believed.

Right!? I was hoping we'd get our first look at Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell!

I was not impressed with the footage I saw at D23. I don't get why we need another Peter Pan live-action adaptation. None of them have really done well other than Hook. The only catch here is that it's Disney doing, and most of their live-action remakes of their animated films are terrible.

The scene disturbed me, Peter looked very effeminate yet sounded masculine and his face seemed heavily airbrushed.. it just didn't sit well with me.

I love Peter Pan, the lore, the magic - I'm well aware of how he's portrayed on stage, the descriptions in the books but this was not how I was envisioning him.

Totally forgot Jude Law was in this.. Hoffman's portrayal still sits with me as one of the best. Pan 2003 was great, using Isaacs in duel roles, Polar Express did similar.

I feel this movie deserves a theatrical release..

That's actually the only thing I'm not on board with in this version. They should have kept to tradition and had Law play Mr. Darling as well as Hook.

Yeah, I’m still not sure what this version is going to add really that Hook and Peter Pan 2003 didn’t already give us in live-action form. Especially it being a Disney+ release.

My fear is it’ll be just a forgettable bland retread that updates and removes anything interesting about the 1953 version ala Pinocchio.

A less offensive portrayal of Tiger Lily? :o

Yeah wont add to the interpertations that are already been made. Strange.
