Django Unchained

Yeah, I've managed to find it. I quite like ti so far too! But boy is it long.

It's script. I got it yesterday night, and I finished it today. It's fast read.

I'm glad it's Jaime Foxx and not Smith. I just can't imagine Smith in the role. Though, I could be completely wrong about that. If Tarantino is brilliant at anything it's casting people in roles you wouldn't expect and making it more perfect then you ever could have guessed. Smith would've probably been unexpectedly right, and so will Foxx.

I'm 92 pages into the script (love it), and man, Schultz is such an extraordinary character - his style, his dialogue, his actions, ahhh. I can't wait to see Waltz tear the screen up.

I want to see Django's green jacket now, too.

Just started reading the script and it's impressive. Might be stopping soon, because I'd rather be surprised with the rest of the audience in the theater. I know what I'll be doing on Christmas Day, 2012, that's for sure.

Yeah I loved it as well. I'm not too concerned of the N word being used 200 times throughout. It was common to use it that casually back then.

Okay, I stopped on page 37. And I agree with the use of the N-word in this movie. It wouldn't feel authentic if it wasn't used casually.

How meety is the role of Broomhilda in the script?

And somehow, I see Washington getting the part. She is avaliable right now. Naomie Harris could be an interesting backup option if her part as Moneypenny in the new Bond film falls through (she still has yet to be confirmed if I'm not mistaken). Who else could it be though if its not going to be Washington? Would Quentin go with an unknown for the part? I think he would with names like Foxx, DiCaprio, Russell, Waltz and Jackson in the cast.

Washington and Harris are my top two choices.

She's definitely not a strong female character like Shoshanna. But whoever QT picks is definitely going to have to show us a wide range of emotions. She really has a lot to go through in this movie.

Also, Washington has been the only name rumored, although there have been reports of other actresses testing for the role. The fact that Washington is the only name has been rumored means that the role will either go to her or an unknown.

I actually would prefer Taraji over Washington. She does a better job at playing vulnerable yet strong spirited women. I doubt she's up for the role though.

I didn't consider her because she's on TV right now.

It's simple really. Will Smith only does movies that are only in his comfort zone, meaning Oscar bait, and big budget, predictable, good guy flicks. He doesn't sign on for riskier movies like Dicaprio does.

This, and it's really disappointing because he would knock this role out the park. It's been frustrating watching Will Smith in movies the last few years. Hancock's first half was great, but the second half after twist, the quality of the movie took a nosedive. I've never seen a movie go from great to s****y so fast.

Plus, Men in Black III is like his first movie in five years, so it remains to be seen if he's still going to be the box office draw he's been in the last decade.

I read the script imagining Will Smith as Django and it just made me sad that he wouldn't take the risk. Dicaprio, Smith, Waltz, Jackson, and Russell altogether? Oh what could have been.

Wow, I didn't even realize that! The last movie Will acted in was Seven Pounds back in 2008.

You think that's bad? Besides the Rush Hour sequels, Chris Tucker hasn't been in a movie since Jackie Brown. :wow:

:funny:I don't think it's bad but it definitely shows that Will's career is slowing down(Probably by choice). There was a time when Will was starring in a movie every year but after 2008 it just stopped.

EDIT: By the way, I checked Tucker's filmography on Wiki and it says he's scheduled to star in Rush Hour 4 in 2013. I think that's just wishful thinking on Wiki's behalf.

Well, he's got kids that he's helping build careers for I suppose.

Yep, especially Jaden who will probably end up following in his father's footsteps.

I think he's too concern with his image to take a risk like this. And it's a shame because Will will stay at his comfort zone when he has shown he can go beyond (Ali)

I actually think Six Degrees of Separation was his riskiest movie and that was at the beginning of his acting career.

hopefully the movie is epic length, and not TV-movie 85 minutes..
..I wonder will there be merchandise..
.. wonder what kind of music will be on the soundtracks..

Will Smith has no cajones.

DiCaprio did Shutter Island, Inception, Revolutionary Road, Body of Lies, and J. Edgar all within 3 years. That's crazy range.
