Honestly, this new incarnation of Dante is a good break away from the original design. People tend to comment that the character now looks emo, but IMO he looks very much more roguish, as opposed to his rather "anime" inspired look of the previous games. One thing about creative control is it gives a person the right to make any changes they feel are necessary for delivering the product they intend to be successful, and by all means, the DMC games have had a pretty good run, but let's face it, the storylines for each game and the dialogue were pretty cheesy. Back in the day when I didn't know any better, DMC was the cat's pajamas, upon playing the HD remakes, I can totally see where the games have their flaws. I think this time around, Ninja Theory is trying to make the storyline a little more coherent, and also make Dante a little more brash and more of an ******* instead of an overly cocky, force to be reckoned with. When the first image of this 'new' Dante surfaced, I was like most people, a little pissed, but seeing him in action and how he deals with threats and the opposing force, the look has grown onto me. I'm not saying that this new Dante is the official Dante appearance, but I can live with the changes that they've made. From a visual standpoint, DMC always delivered, same goes for gameplay, he looks cool in my book and I certainly don't think Ninja Theory would give us another travesty along the lines of DMC 2, now that game sucked demon balls
