Still looks like Ninja Theories game. They had the stinger move and a few others in there but thats bout it. Everything else looks different and they are def doing their own thing with gameplay. Thought that trailer was total crap. Sites should have a Captivate demo review up tomorrow. Well get to see actual gameplay.

I thought the trailer was awesome. Best so far.
I'm always looking forward for more.

Looks fantastic, I love the new young cocky Dante. I love the design of him too, the franchise definitely needed a fresh new take after Dmc 4 and this looks to be it.

Did someone say young, cocky Dante?

Punk Rock is not Twilight.

I mean c'mon now. :P Bare chest and all, but this was fine for you?

that white hair look worked for inuyasha and so did the red on that characters on him as well too. it was fine for dante. it was only the jacket most of the time any way. It's just what made him, "him" not that he wouldn't look cool in other colours /attired any way the creator went as far as he was born with that hair of his and went as far to tell people that made the anime that was the case. it's not the first half demon in asian culture to have that look. it's based on some thing established.

this look I'm hoping this is what actually happened to his twin brother Virgil after he went to demon world as shown in DMC 3 since he wanted to go there so bad I'm sure he didn't get what us humans consider a warm welcome and is paying the price. And they changed his looks and messed with his memory to mess with him. story wise, I'm sure others would like that as well, as a real fresh new spin on the series and why him choosing the path of demons wasn't the best chose for him after all. and he left his Katana in the human world he's kinda in store for a new sword.

( hoping for too much) well I'm willing to see how this story turns out.

No. It didn't. Dante's old designed would of fit perfectly here. No need to Twilight him up.

Yes, it did. DMC 4 was pretty terrible, dmc 3 was alright at best. This new Dante is nothing like Twilight. Good God he is not even close to that. He is exactly how you'd imagine a younger Dante looking.

I was ok with DMC 4 I played recently after my pc was fixed/ upgraded and it wasn't as bad as so many claim. Well may be it was just different for me cause of the system I was using or it might be a touch of what was done with Riden in MGS casue we played another character more then we got to play Dante(who was the main character in prior gmes) like what done in that series. But it just wasn't that bad for me.

I'm aware I'm in the minority though as I'm saying this .

Honestly, this new incarnation of Dante is a good break away from the original design. People tend to comment that the character now looks emo, but IMO he looks very much more roguish, as opposed to his rather "anime" inspired look of the previous games. One thing about creative control is it gives a person the right to make any changes they feel are necessary for delivering the product they intend to be successful, and by all means, the DMC games have had a pretty good run, but let's face it, the storylines for each game and the dialogue were pretty cheesy. Back in the day when I didn't know any better, DMC was the cat's pajamas, upon playing the HD remakes, I can totally see where the games have their flaws. I think this time around, Ninja Theory is trying to make the storyline a little more coherent, and also make Dante a little more brash and more of an ******* instead of an overly cocky, force to be reckoned with. When the first image of this 'new' Dante surfaced, I was like most people, a little pissed, but seeing him in action and how he deals with threats and the opposing force, the look has grown onto me. I'm not saying that this new Dante is the official Dante appearance, but I can live with the changes that they've made. From a visual standpoint, DMC always delivered, same goes for gameplay, he looks cool in my book and I certainly don't think Ninja Theory would give us another travesty along the lines of DMC 2, now that game sucked demon balls

lol but I thought him being cocky is what's new and fresh for him this time around?

Agreed, I played DMC 4 a couple of years after it was released and after hearing several friends say it sucked I wasn't expecting much. It turned out to be really good, I could have done without the inclusion of the second character, but I really enjoyed this game, especially Pandora's box.

I thought it was pretty good, but DMC3 was the best game of the franchise and is still one of my favorite games.

I agree. The first one isn't too far behind though.

I liked the fourth, but I wasn't too crazy about when we finally got to play as Dante you just played through Nero's levels backwards.

I said this on older threads of both before.

I think the true issues was the Execution of what was done in MGS where Riden was introduced. they just copied the same formula there. even though they saw that fans didn't like it (game play style wise). I have no idea why other's chose to copy it.

I understand wanting to expand and broaden the universe you made. it's fine. it's called "Devil may cry" not just "Dante's : Devil may cry." like what been done with the arkham games.

same can be said with MG series. But I think this had to do with the Execution. if it was done in the Style of say co -op and i mean the old school co-op like what we saw in the Double dragon final fight and X-Men arcade it would have been fine. the issue was that people didn't get to play enough Dante. they just chose the execution. other wise the inclusion of nero would have been if it wasn't for the chose of game play they chose. it's kinda like the forced partner thing that was copied from that prince of Persia game that res 5 copied and looky what happened there.

Man the complaints. it's was like the original idea of co-op(drop in and out) almost never existed for some people that were complaining as well. never understood why certain studio's didn't get the clue that once you see complaints on some thing you saw a fellow game maker made, it's probably not a good Idea to copy it.

or they could done it in style of arkham city has . it's all a Balancing issue execution wise. they just chose the wrong one.

The first screens of the combat system in Project X Zone, a collaborative strategy-RPG from Namco, Sega and Capcom, have been released, revealing chibi-like versions of staple characters from each house.

Ever wanted to see Ryu and Ken team up against Tyrant? How about Ulala dancing and fighting? Head over to Famitsu to see that and more.

this most likely needs it's own thread. but I thouht i'd put up here for obvious reasons.

The new Dante looks like a total dip ****, so did DMC 3 Dante with no shirt otherwie he looked cool. At least he wasnt flying naked through the air. This Dante looks the way he does cause NT thinks this is whats cool in todays time. They are wrong. He looks like a cheesy boy band member mixed with Hayden Christensen. DMC 1, 2 and 4 has the best design for Dante. Yeah hes cocky in DMC 3 but he also has a sense of fun to his character. This new character looks like hes trying too hard. All the lines felt forced and too serious.

The gameplay looks slower then previous DMC's plus a bit laggy, and I dont think there is hard target lock while in gameplay. WTF? So evading and attacking opponents will be different this time around. Changes in combat are a bad call. They should improve it, not reinvent it. Ninja Theory does not have Platinum games combat exp.

On positives I think the camera looks alot better, always ran into frustrations with the fixed one in previous games. And Mundus is back. So thats cool.
