if it was all silver it'd be kinda boring
Yeah, I'd never leave it all silver. Just wondering why gold?
it compliments silver really well, and looks a lot better then...green?
I used a transparent base coat, followed by a locally acquired vehicle industrial silver paint and gave Megs four layers of it. Then I whipped a layer of gloss finish.
Why gold? Why not? Looks good. Besides, I believe Megs had a tinge of gold on him in the movie.
I take orders, by the way, for a reasonable fee. For your thanks, I'd even throw these beautiful chrome decals in for free:
It does look good, when I first saw it I was like "Gold eh? Interesting"
Has anyone else seen the new Ratchet in stores? It has his original G1 colors(eventhough he is still a Hummer). I picked it up because it was the last one I saw at Wal-Mart. I saw Thundercracker as well, but passed on him.
Leader Megs is taunting me in stores. His ugly ass is always there in abundance but I can't get an Optimus to save my life
I want Leader Megs(just to complete the movie bots), but I have omnnly seen him once and haven't found him since.
You find a Leader Optimus and we'll switch via mail
Thats amazing DM! Way to go that rules!
Can you just show me the Optimess pics? t:
Rescue ratchet. yes, we've all seen him...he's been out for over a month.
and it's not hummer.
He's an H2 Hummer
Yeah, a search and rescue Hummer...
Then we all agree?
so dm. was that your op repaint in the picture with megs and everyone else. because that looks pretty good but i want to see OPs repaint if that wasnt it. i dont care how bad it is cause mine would be way worse
I'll keep that in mind
I didn't do a complete body repaint. I just wanted to add metalic/chrome to the truck parts that should be, such as the grille, pipes and fuel tanks. I think I used low-quality paint that made it smudge.
Here they are:
I'll take more photos soon.
Not bad, but the smudges could be a little bit of a problem. Usually that happens when the paint gets touched before it's fully cured. Even then, enamels tend to soften up when exposed to finger oil. One way around this though would be to coat it with a clear Acrylic or Lacquer coating, because those aren't oil solvent.
They weren't touched. Great care was taken to ensure that.
I suspect that it's the result of a reaction between the poor quality paint that was used and the gloss coating. The shades above the windscreen did not receive such coating and are fine.
did you use the same megatron paint on optimus. optimus looks pretty good even with he smudges on the paint. i think the poth look awesome
No, I did not. I started with Optimus Prime before moving on to Megatron and I used a store-bought spray paint for Prime.
so do you have any other decepticons. i dont really know what other ones in scale they have but i think star scream is in pretty good scale
