I used a transparent base coat, followed by a locally acquired vehicle industrial silver paint and gave Megs four layers of it. Then I whipped a layer of gloss finish.

Why gold? Why not? Looks good. Besides, I believe Megs had a tinge of gold on him in the movie.

I didn't do a complete body repaint. I just wanted to add metalic/chrome to the truck parts that should be, such as the grille, pipes and fuel tanks. I think I used low-quality paint that made it smudge.

Not bad, but the smudges could be a little bit of a problem. Usually that happens when the paint gets touched before it's fully cured. Even then, enamels tend to soften up when exposed to finger oil. One way around this though would be to coat it with a clear Acrylic or Lacquer coating, because those aren't oil solvent.

They weren't touched. Great care was taken to ensure that.

I suspect that it's the result of a reaction between the poor quality paint that was used and the gloss coating. The shades above the windscreen did not receive such coating and are fine.

did you use the same megatron paint on optimus. optimus looks pretty good even with he smudges on the paint. i think the poth look awesome

No, I did not. I started with Optimus Prime before moving on to Megatron and I used a store-bought spray paint for Prime.

so do you have any other decepticons. i dont really know what other ones in scale they have but i think star scream is in pretty good scale
