I totally agree with you. And to the non-believers who say there's no proof that they have been here, where's the proof that they haven't?

Exactly. Sceptics are always saying "There's no proof that they have" just like religious sceptics are always saying "There's no proof that there's a God". Well there's no proof that there isn't a God either. I personally don't know what to believe, but I never say THERE IS NO GOD, just like I never say THERE ARE NO ALIENS.

What, you mean like Martians? :p ;)

OK, it would appear that there are no "little green men" on Mars, but that isn't to say that there's NO LIFE PERIOD. They have found water there, haven't they? So maybe at some point they'll come across some form of life. It may not be super intelligent life capable of space travel, it may not even be sentient (self-aware), but it may still be there, just waiting to be found.

I believe there is intelligent life out there... but i don't believe they have visited earth

Many people say that aliens capable of travelling across such vast distances wouldn't be interested in such a primitive planet as Earth. But if I could travel back in time and visit the earliest forms of human life, I'd certainly take that opportunity. No reason why aliens shouldn't also be interested in primitive societies.

Made up by people.

So every single UFO sighting that has ever been reported has been made up? Or misinterpreted? Like an aurora borealis or something? You can't say that they've all been made up by people for the simple fact that you have no way of knowing with any certainty whether or not they have.

I tend to reason that in any legend there is a grain of truth. Not all sightings are real or legitimate, but I do think some of them were. I don't know how much I believe the gov't is involved with them, but I do think they are checking us out. :)

Government conspiracies are considered far-fetched by a lot of people. But, to me, what's far-fetched is believing that there's absolutely no possibility of a government conspiracy. I don't see why it would be so unlikely that a government would cover up certain information in order to avoid a mass panic.

As vast as this universe is how can anyone say with a straight face that there isn't anything out there? My opinion? Yes, I believe that there are some form of intelligent species outside of this universe.

Will we ever find out? Chances are slim when it deals with theories that involve aliens from another world. However, I'd like to believe that one day we'll find the truth and come into contact with aliens.

So yes, we would be pretty ignorant to completely deny the possibility of life outside of this universe when we consider how vast it is.

There was one joke/statement that was made recently, and it said, "Want to know how we know there's intelligent life in space? They haven't tried to contact us yet."

There has to be some kind of life on another planet somewhere but I highly doubt they've ever been to this planet. Probably not even in this solar system.

Hells Yes

Yes, but I don't think they have visited Earth.

I have trouble believing we're the only planet with advanced life forms so yes

From what I remember reading and Matt or any can correct me if I'm wrong.

But for aliens to visit our solar system it would take a vast amount of energy and when you consider the distance from say Mars or Jupiter to Earth, along with the mass amount of time it would take to get here it's very unlikely they've visited us in a physical sense.

Now is it far fetched to say that they've been here before? No. It's very possible they may've passed by quickly and went back into space.

But if they're technology is much more advanced than ours, then I could be wrong on the account I just stated.

the question wasn't whether or not they have been here. The question was whether or not they exist.

Made up by people.

Yes, things like Martians and Klingons are certainly made up by people, but is it really that abstract to think that in the billions of star systems just in our solar system there isn't one planet that can hold life? I don't think so. How can we be the only ones inhabiting the universe if it's so vast. Kind of a waste of space, don't you think?

It depends on what you mean by alien. If you mean a green guy with an eyeball attached to an appendage petruding from the top of his head located in Area 51, no. If you mean any form of animal-like life on another planet in the universe, then yes.

Area 51 is still open for debate.

yes i do.... but will we ever see/meet them? probably not
