Do You Believe We're In The"Last Days"?

Actually it does, but unless you're willing to take the time to find out what has been predicted, you might not see it.

My experience with most athiests and such is that they want the answers summed up in just ten minutes or less. If it takes a bit of work to find out what the Bible does predict, most just aren't up for it.

Your unwillingness (or inability) to site specific examples does nothing to advance your argument.

Where in the bible does it talk about Israel becoming a nation again? If I'm not mistaken, I think it says that the generation that sees it reform will see Jesus coming back. Granted, I've not read it and have only heard it from others, but that's why I'm asking if anyone knows where it talks about it so I can read it up.

I'm also curious about where the prophecy is about Israel being miraculously saved by an invading army from the north or something of those lines. Might be something to study with this whole war thing they're going into.

And yes, I do believe that the end is near, but I'm not down about it. I'm actually kinda excited. If it's tomorrow, then cool, if it's 40 years from now, then cool. Either way... I'll be good.... unless Bison's right about that whole JW thing.... then it'll suck :(

One of my biggest problems with the Bible, personally.
The disciples almost certainly expected the Temple's destruction to happen at around the same time as the Second Coming of Christ (cf. Acts 1:6-7; John 21:20-23), but as we look back from our vantage point, it's obvious that only some of Jesus' prophecy has been fulfilled. The Temple was destroyed in 70 A.D., but this world is still here and Jesus is still in heaven. It would seem that the remaining prophecies of Jesus await fulfillment at some point in the indeterminate future.

unless you believe as PKD did:o:

"Real time ceased in 70 C.E. with the fall of the temple at Jerusalem. It began again in 1974 C.E. The intervening period was a perfect spurious interpolation aping the creation of the Mind. "The Empire never ended," but in 1974 a cypher was sent out as a signal that the Age of Iron was over; the cypher consisted of two words: KING FELIX, which refers to the Happy (or Rightful) King. "

Thank GOD "real time" started up again!
It must've been really confusing in the interim, with anniversaries and job interviews, etc. :(

Yes, there is a 'Last' for everything.

besides the timing might be out by a fraction.

Speaking of real time, I was watching this great Nova series about String Theory and the resulting semi-embarrassment of the 5 resulting String Theories and then the revolutionary "M Theory", and it was such a great example of how effective the propaganda of the establishment's education system is.
Because a huge chunk of people will tell you, when asked, that the universe started with "the Big Bang", 'cause this is what they've heard all the Brainiacs say, so it must be true.

And here, on the show, were all the world's greatest physicists, literally the most reknowned thinkers on Earth, snickering about how stupid the idea of the "Big Bang" is, using the very same arguments against it that I, as a believer in a Creator have used against it for years.

F***in'...(wait for it)...SHEEP! :)

they define the universe in a different way. the universe is not an infinity to them. it is only when infinity is split that they call it a universe.

yeah....i've always said science is at its best when it admits that its wrong.
or at the very least, that it CAN be wrong.

but the whole TOE idea, whether it be through String or any other route...i'm pretty skeptical it'll ever be found.

...the NOVA series, was it the one hosted by Brian Greene?

yeah- it was a pretty cool special. sort of glossed over some things (the "weird wacky quantum Diner" thing was ******ed), but it did get at some interesting interviews.

I think i've spoken about it before on here- but I saw Brian Greene speak a few years ago and he was a pretty intense guy. That intensity didnt really come across on the special.

I don't think it is terribly soon. The sings of the Apocolypse have been happening for a while. It will happen but I don't think it will be within my lifetime. Who knows...

People have found ways to interpret the "prophecies" to back up their claims that "the End is near" for centuries now.:o

My favorite was the 7th Day Adventists.
They were so 100% sure that they all quit their jobs, gave away their goods and met on a hill to greet the lord. LOL...whoops.
