Do you think the Pirates sequels should have been made?

Was it worth it?

  • YES!!! The only thing better than more pirate movies is more rum!

  • NO! They ruined the ending of the first one with inferior sequels.

  • I don't care and I don't care about these movies.

  • What's a pirate?

I went with no I liked the first one but hated the second one I still haven't seen the third one nor do I plan to.

Why just as you didn't like the second? Go on you will watch it you will lol.

Its got Barbossa in it......lol.

Its even got Singapore! That was one of the most kick ass movie sets I've even seen.

I didn't like becuase it was on to long enough and what little plot it had went nowhere and no I won't see the third one at all.

I just felt part 2 and part 3 had paper thin plots that in the end took away more from the great and near perfect ending of Pirates 1 than adding to it, though.

Are you kidding? The plot of the last two movies was convoluted as hell. I liked it but it was convoluted.

And the great thing about part 1 is that it is possible to ignore the sequels because the ending was just that...final. The sequels were just additional stories. I wouldn't even really call this a trilogy like say Star Wars or Lord of The Rings.

I thought the first two movies were pretty decent, fun movies. I didn't like the third one though.

Yes, since Black Pearl is far and away the weakest of the 3 films in every way possible.

COTBP is a ridiculously overrated and not very good popcorn film, DMC blew it out of the water and AWE was better than that.

The COTBP plot was far, far more thin than the sequels, and the charcaterization was garbage. Jack and Barbossa were alot of fun, but Liz is annoying and Will is bland as can be. She's the chick that hates corsets and he's the guy loves Elizabeth...and reminds us over and over and over.
Davy Jones is the best thing about the movies, and either sequel has single action sequences more exciting than the entire Black Pearl film (not exactly a huge feet anyway) and much better characterization and storytelling (even less of an impressive feet).

COTBP was the only one of the three where I felt the length (and then some). I enjoyed the other 2 so much they were nearly 2 hours in before I realized any time had passed.

Yeah, the swordfighting skeletons, redundant swordfights, and humor that ranges from mildly funny to not funny at all was really so ****ing deep...

There was nothing for the sequels to ruin, since their predecessor was mediocre at best.

I enjoyed the sequels and agree they should've been made, but they should've cut down on the supernatural/epic elements and focused on making a fun, swashbuckling, high seas adventure like the original.

I dont get how the plot was convoluted. I found it easy to follow. There was never a moment that I was scratching my head...well except when Calypso went all Jolly Green Giant. Other than that I found it easy to follow.

There were certainly alot of interwinding subplots, but I don't mind that, especially since just about all of them were more engaging than the bland COTBP story.

I don't think there is any real love or artistic integrity in these movies besides Jack Sparrow. The whole thing is so commercially oriented that you can almost see it onscreen. Atleast with Spider-Man you know the cast and crew deeply love and care about what they are working on.
