Superman Returns Do you want a sequel, or start over from scratch?

yeah...u're right....i mean, it's cool to say ur pops is superman..but no one can lie..in the movie...Richard was the real hero....he seems like a much better dad then superman. lol which is another problem in the film...Superman is supposed to be the main character...so why does it seem like another male character is the more just and noble? lol singer just kind of screwed this one up...I could see if Richard was a deadbeat..but he is actually a good father, and husband.

That's one reason why I want to see Richard's transformation to the 'dark side'. The way I see SR II ending is Superman possibly telling Lois and Jason his secret, leaving Richard out of the loop and seeing what happens from there. It would be an interesting dynamic to have, I think. A "what if?" scenario... But, I see Superman and Richard as the same being- both are supermen, in a way and that's how it was meant- Richard is the human Superman.

This needs a complete reboot to be successful. Superman teh remake never happened. Singer needs to go bosworth needs to go. Anything less and this flop will make the next look like Gone With The Wind.

yeah. that would be a nice turn of events. But he would probably have to be under the unfluence of Lex or a super villain. i can't think of who else he could be other than Metallo or Parasite....well, lex could attempt to give him Superman's power by using a piece of Superman's DNA as the sample....but in their attempts...things go a little wrong...and they get Bizarro....he has superman's powers...but his logic is all screwed up...and the end result is...Bizarro

Honestly, I would prefer a complete reboot...but u know that could take forever...if we get a sequel...it'll be a lot sooner than a complete reboot. but a reboot would be better...imo. Singer messed up on a few thngs with SR. a big problem i have is introducing the kid so soon...and having too many distractions

Well, not for the sequel- but, for part of the third film. Sequel, I'm thinking Brainiac is possible. It would be a nice transition from Superman Returns. Since Brainiac is a villain that is heavily related to 'alien technology' which was one of the aspects of SR. Brainiac is also an alien threat.

So, to me- Richard's possible transformation would be near the end of the sequel. A moment, an expression on his face, something that just tells us that it's not over yet. Similar to the Goblin scene in SM2. "You know something's going to happen" type moment and then further that in the third film (with an additional possible villain).

I always had the visualization of a fight with Metallo, and after a draw... looking like it's over... All the lights in the city go out and Superman hears a voice with his superhearing. That voice of course being Braniac, setting up the next film

Yes to the punching. No to dropping Jason. This is why I started the Save the Kid foundation. I just knew there'd be some kid-haters left who'd want him gone. Ok so he wasn't the most necessary aspect of the movie and was an obvious plot device thrown in to provide a cheap plot twist and resolution while complicating the relationship between supes, lois, and richard. I get it.

Of course I'll kill you singer, if you plan to have Lois not be with supes and then have supergirl come in and marry superman. I'll be really pissed then.

Anyway the kid will return. I just know it. He's not going to end up like Jar Jar.

I had serious doubts about this movie before it came out because of Singers vision and it turned out I was right.

I definately do not want to see him back, we all gave him his shot and he blew it.

It's time for a new direction and a new director, Singers movie was just not original and not that exciting. I want them to start completely over with a new cast and a new production and a new director. I don't think it will happend though. Supermans Returns was a huge let down!

Ditto to that. I don't understand the reasoning for a reboot. That would pretty much make no sense at this point. Just let Singer finish this trilogy. I mean, I thought SR was a great film and I want to see where Singer goes from here on out.

There's been just ONE origin story on film and it's almost 30 years old. Superman Fans have seen Superman's origin in other media, but not regular moviegoers. Singer proved it could've been done with the opening sequence of SR. He just chose to play it "safe" and rely on Donner's and The Adventures of Superman vision with better fx's.

Sorry but you have no facts proving there will be a sequel so please do not say such nonsense without actual proof to back it up.

SR's sequel at this time lies in the DVD sales and they had better do no less than 100 mil to expect a sequel based on its lackluster BO numbers.

With 100 mil in DVD sales it will still be debatable whether the 460 or so million it will have taken in at that point is enough to call for a sequel.
