There will definitely be a sequel. "production president Jeff Robinov" said that there will be one in 2009

Someone saying something is not a fact, even if they are a studio head it means nothing what about this is a business are people not understanding.

They will not make a sequel if the movie does not show a profit with DVD sales.
That said it should but I am not going to gaurentee that and if it does they may green light a sequel.
As of today 8/22/06 a sequel is NOT GREEN LIGHTED

I think the WB has a better understanding of this topic than you Nate Grey.....

There will be a sequel...Wb has said they want to and all the cast wants to come back, adn Singer has already started talking about it and a tratment is proably being written....

What's the DVD date on this POS?? Is it going to get mowed under by POTC again?

This needs a reboot sans everyone from this debacle. Nobody said anything about an origin movie. Show it in brief panels with some narration and get the **** on with things. These people will carry the taint of The Remake with them if they're kept.

Start over from scratch.

No ties to the Donner movies.

No friggin' badly proportioned suit with the silly buckle.

No kid.

A Jimmy who's kind of cool and is somewhat of a slacker and a hacker

No nebbishy Clark.

A loud bear of a Perry White.

And - most importantly - No Brian Singer

This is EXACTLY what SUPERMAN needs.... The WB is being ran by monkeys I tell you!

Superman Returns was a great film, can't wait for a sequel. WB knows what they're doing in my books.

well if your waiting for a sequel to ths version you're going to be waiting for a long time. Considering the amount of money WB has lost over the last year I'd say they're a long way from knowing what's going on.

Well if they do do a sequel *and I'm not hyped for one to this requel universe*

1. No NEVER no !!! more Donner ripoff "take the same journey" homage, plagiarism.

2. SUPERMAN BEATING THE CRAP OUT OF SOME VILLAIN we've yet to see on film.

3. TONE DOWN the christ imagery. We get it!

4. Brighten the movie! This isn't batman... I couldn't see, it was so dark.

5. Make the pacing better.

6. Give superman more lines

7. No more superdickery. The dog didn't do anything to deserve such treatment.

8. Action! Go crazy! It's time to just go nuts with the most powerful superhero ever!111 Though you wasted 200mil for nothing, man... That could have gone into something more amazing.

9. Watch Raimi's Spider-man 3. Watch Sky captain. Watch batman begins. Watch the incredibles.

10. FUN. Don't be afraid to make a fun movie this time, that's not overlly serious to the point of leaving the audience depressed.

11. Oh and Give Jason a role as sidekick to superman.

Thank you and have a good night.

And you can keep telling yourself till you are blue in the face and its obivous at this point you have no understanding of how a business works.
If it does not show a PROFIT IT WILL NOT GET A SEQUEL what about that are you not getting....

As of 8/23/06 a SEQUEL IS NOT GREEN LIGHTED

duh what according to you its getting a sequel and its set in stone whether the movie shows a profit or not.

That is just not the case no matter how much you tell yourself it or read that Singer and all the cast want to do the sequel duh of course they do....
They however realize what you refuse to grasp they will not make a sequel if the movie does not show a profit, I keep saying this but I do not think you are graspng it.

Re-start a restart? Are you an idiot?

SR is not a restart, its is a new part 3 of two already existing Superman movies.

Singer even said it was part 3.

Singer had his chance and blew it with a lackluster BO performance for his Superman movie.
Time to hand the helm over to a director who will actually look at source material other than STM and some classic covers of issues he obivously never read.

Y-E-S!!! New Superman, and new Director please!

As much as I want a Total Restart.....I think it will be wayyyyy to soon to do that.

Whether you like SR or not, IT IS the most recent Superman movie in the public's mind.......so any total restart in the next couple of years or so......would only serve to confuse the public even more ( as if they aren't confused enough by SR's vague sequel/history )

So.........I think we will be stuck with Singer's vision for a long while.......and unless he and his team come up with a REALLY CREATIVE way to fix the mess they created in SR.....i won't be enthusiastic to see Singer's sequel.....

That being said.......the direction and success of Hulk 2 might give us a better indication of how a SR sequel or restart will be received.......

I don't know if we are getting a "restart" with Hulk 2......but the sequel does seem to be going in a different direction ( new director, new writer, probably new cast.....)........

If Hulk 2 turns out to be a rousing success.....then perhaps Superman could benefit from a new team on board......

But...even then....Hulk 2 seems to be more of a "continuation" of Hulk 1........so I still think it would be too soon for Restarted Superman franchise......

WB had the perfect opportunity with SR...........so I guess I'll have to wait another 10 or 20 years.........sigh.....

I still say a restart . I think a fresh approach away from the donner films is whats needed. If it's a sequel , I think they should go the GOLDENEYE route . No reference to Jr, Mommie Lois, and Richard .

Bring back Routh ,Spacey, Huntigton and Saint but get a new Lois and Perry. For Lois I'd suggest Rachel McAddams. For Perry I'd suggest Tommy Lee Jones.

As for villians i'd bring Metallo and/or Brainac . No Zod . I like the character but IMO it's time to bring on some fresh villians for Supes to take on. That's what I would suggest.

So with all the scripts WB had for a superman movie in the past were none of them ever a restart???
