Do you want the X-Men in the MCU?

Well, to be fair, there are some additional suggestions of bad:
Director told cast not to read the comic books because;
Movie will have very little basis in the source material

Doom is a blogger and that is his hacker name

Guardians director told his cast the same thing that turned out fine, great in fact.

Either way comic accuracy doesn't affect movie quality. There have been very accurate movies considered bad quality and great quality movies that deviated a lot from the comics. All superhero adaptions change things.

Things to suggest it could be bad:

Rocky production

Things to suggest it could be good:

Last superhero movie by the studio was acclaimed
Last movie from the director was acclaimed
Last movies from the writer was acclaimed
Last "bad" marvel movie from the studio was in 2009 or six years ago
Talented cast

Movie could very well end up bad but it's got more going for it than against it.

There's also the weird plot rumours about Doom being an anti-social blogger. And the tone being way too dark for a fantatic four movie. There's been a lot of doubts about that cast as well, though personally I think they're all fine/good. But The F4 is definitely going to have to work hard to win over the crowd.

And this highlights the strength of running a franchise that is NOT part of the MCU. You are free to take as much creative license as needed to make an interesting movie.

Interesting is one way of putting it.

A handful boycotting on protest won't stop the majority going.

Look as Bayformers, fans boycott out of principle (deserved in this case) and it achieves nothing as the majority doesnt.

With X-Men movies being mostly critically acclaimed and loved by audiences the chance of them reverting is like 1%
Here it is we've got Laura Shuler-Donnor, Mark Millar, Simon Kinberg and Hugh Jackman either begging to be a part of the MCU at one point or trying to copy it. So I guess you're pals are part of that 1% then. Whatever our % is Fox certainly could've used it LMAO!

LOL funny thing is that people like you were saying the same thing about Spider-man. Heck they said the same thing about about Daredevil and Ghostrider about 4 years ago and yet here we are. So type all you want about percentages that don't really mean anything and continue to use Bayformers as if those rights are even tied up anywhere. It won't change my opinion or resolve and never will being that I know better.

If you're so confident in your assessment then why is this constantly being asked in the first place? The fact is that Fox isn't making as much off of Marvel movies as they should be and never have been. And with Disney holding X-men's movie merchandising all it takes is one major flop for them to be sitting where Sony was at the bargaining table especially if Shuler-Donnor and the rest have anything to say about it.

But You just described characters not being comic accurate as a flaw of the MCU in the other thread. Quite the double-standard! It also seems like you missed the latest news about F4...or You just don't care.

Wrong!

Unlike Trank, James Gunn actually reads and loves comic books. I've even had discussions with him on FB before GOTG was made. This is why it turned out fine. So try again.

I love the MCU but no thanks. We don't want them turning Magneto into a weak and average villain now do we.

I think the X-Men series is large enough to stand on its own and I think to reach it's fully potential it should stand on its own.

I think FOX would be stupid to give it up and while I get why Marvel would want it back they already have their hands full

They're different scenarios. Fox isn't tanking hard, it's doing really well so far as I'm aware. If it has some sort of crash in the near future then things may change - though even then so long as the X-men movies are good they'll probably want to keep onto the rights as money makers. It was only because the ASM2 did so poorly that Sony leased the rights.

Also, Hugh Jackman's opinion on that sort of thing doesn't really matter. He's there to act not direct the future of the company.

so called consulant Mark Millar's oporion doesn't mean much

Hugh Jackman is gone after new solo wolverine film so his words on matter mean squat.

Do people really think Lauren Shueller Donnor would want the X-Men films she has been producing since fox bought the rights to go where she would have no say whatsever.

A marvel/Fox deal like sony won't happen since fox isn't in Sony's bad shape.

I could hope that they and the FF returned but it doesn't look too likely anytime soon. Well sucks to be them, I guess. They'll miss the party.

They had their own party even before MCU began thats why Fox are still keeping them.

I cant wait to see the Fantastic Four and the X-Men to cross over soon! Thats a party I wont surely miss!

Fassbender, has been the best performance in these types of movies since Heath. He's also such a badass. So hell no.

Their Magneto could be a punchline machine and I just don't want to see that.

Magneto and Xavier are probably the greatest thing about each of the 5 movies they star in. I don't necessarily think Marvel would destroy the characters entirely (and I guess there's no way to know) but why risk it?

I hope Apocalypse will join the ranks of Xavier/Magneto in the films. You know they are like leaders and they have their own ideology and I really hope they nail Apocalypse really well!

Not going to happen.

Profit wise DOFP only made $7M more than ASM2 despite the difference in RT ratings.

So his comments only matter when convenient? Okay thanks for the clarification.

So you're admitting that Fox's answer to Joss Whedon was an epic failure.

As for the rest its amazing how easily some of these Fox-men fans throw the creators of their favorite CMB's under the bus or flat out dismiss the comments they can't turn around in their favor.

Ignore it all you want but your favorite studio clearly has a favor studio when it comes to Marvel movies and it clearly isn't their own. LOL!

Yeah I can sense some serious venom behind this part. Like "Why Hugh have to go sharing his Ironman loving opinion?" Yeah never mind those 2 crappy/mediocre solo Wolverine films he made, it "Oh so he wants to be with the MCU now huh?" "When does this chumps contract run out? He's irrelevant now!"

LOL, I LOVE IT!

Yes and I'm bored to tears of seeing leathers suits and Jackman hogging the limelight while the girls get scraps.

I say yes, if only so that no longer does a rich cast of characters get squandered except for a select handful.

At the moment, I feel both universes are doing just fine on their own. It would be awesome to see the X-Men fighting beside the Avengers (and Fantastic Four), but I can't see them bringing the current X-Men Cinematic Universe into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This just isn't a perfect world. But I am very happy to see both franchises doing so well.
