Yeah, if they're going to do the character at all, it would be weird if they didn't make him talk. I don't know why some people were against it.

Probably mix. CGI for distance shots and doll for close-ups.

I viewed the scene as Grodd talking to Eiling in his head.

Simon Burnett ... Gorilla Grodd (uncredited) (1 episode, 2015)

He's a regular stuntman on Arrow but listed as an actor on The Flash after that Grodd work. Whatever all that means.

The only thing that I worry about Grodd, when it comes to using him as the potential next big bad is that his appearances will be limited due to it being a costly thing to create any form of his appearance, which will make it harder for people to grow attached to him as the main villain as opposed to someone like Harrison Wells.

I read that as well because the Genral said that voice is in my head.
