Comics Doesn't anyone else read Spider-Girl??

After reading up to issue 76, I have to say that I HATE what they did with Kaine!!!!! He had so much potential, but the ruined him!!!! Anyone else feel this way? I mean, why the hell would Kaine be a part of a government recovery team??? And I love how Olliffe drew the best, I can't really get into the way Frenz draws, especially the little triangles on the cheeks. I feel like it became more cartoonish and juvenile. I wish Pat would come back :(

Nahhh as the biggest Kaine fan here I wouldn't say they ruined him, he's had a lot of great stories in Spider Girl like issue 14, 18, 48, 49, 50, my only problem was during the Canis storyline he gets his ass whooped by Black Tarantula to easily, I mean he killed Ock! and Peter's beat BT before so whats stopping Kaine?

Peter never beat Black Turantula, he just didn't die against him. Black Turantula is pretty bad ass. I don't mind him beating Kaine, but I hate how they made Kaine a weak, everyday player. Kaine doesn't let anyone push him around, and people fear him, but recently he's been turned into a crap character...

Hey guys! I'm not really a big spidergirl fan, but i found this pic and was wondering what it was about. Was it like a dream or something?

spider-girl #90

Something like that. Here's a vague spoiler --

Spider-Girl is gonna fight a villain with "powers of illusion". It's not Mysterio, because I think he's dead in the MC2. When I was at the Pittsburgh Convention last April, Tom said that Molly, the new editor, had read all the back issues and that she liked this one villain, and asked Tom to bring this villain back.

I'll put five on it that its
Misery from the Spider Girl Annual

I just noticed that one of my posts' that i posted on this page aren't here anymore! What's up with that?!! Anyway, i feel you on that Kaine issue Spideywebs, i too felt that he should've been able to give a better fight against BT, but i truly feel that Kaine will get another chance to go toe-to-toe with BT again. One thing Kaine hasn't done since being reincarnated back into the pages of Spider-Girl is the "Mark of Kaine", which i thought made him such a bad-ass, and vastly different from all the other Parker clones in terms of power. Kaine has toned down a lot since joining the Spider-Girl Universe, but he's still a better combant than he was written in his last appearence. Citizen Kaine is correct: Kaine is indeed a pimp, and i can't wait to see him re-emerge since the BT fight!

I have now read all issues of Spider-girl :( It's kind of sad that I have completed it and have to wait monthly to read it :(

Good job! :)

What was your favorite story arc?

Have you read some of the old MC2 books? I think Spider-Girl showed up in The Buzz and Fantastic Five.

Just dropping by to say that I'm still reading SG, and I enjoyed Last Hero Standing as well, Cap pretty much came full circle in that huh?

I can't think of an arc that really sticks out, I kind of liked them all. As for the other MC2 books, I wanted to read the Buzz and Darkdevil, but I am lazy to go looking for them. Did Fantastic Five actually have a book?

Yep. Ran for five issues. I heard it sold in the top 50. It was scheduled to run 12 issues, but I think office politics back in 2000 killed it. I think Spider-Girl showed up in FF #3 to help out Franklin.

IMO the best Spider Girl arc has got to be Season of the Serpent, just for issue 6 alone damn that was a great issue!:spidey:

The thing I love about Spider-girl is that they explore what the current Spiderman writers shun, such as the clone saga, and all that interesting stuff. And it is less offensive when it is in an alternate reality :p

I have to say that MY favorite issue so far HAS to be #51 still. The issue where the fellow student of May writes a heartwarming letter to May. Such a sweet issue.

What makes you think that "he" is dead?

Oh, and hey everyone. Been a while since I dropped by. I'm up to date as always on Spider-Girl and everything MC2 related though.

As for "Last Hero Standing", I loved it. We need more MC2 mini-series.

Ya want more mini's, then let's write in to Marvel. :D

About the person being dead? I think it was mentioned in one of the MC2 books somewhere. It was either Sony or Okobi on the Alvaro Board that mentioned it a few weeks ago. I haven't verified it for myself, though.

I actually believe Peter said it in one of the Spider-girl issues.

Yeah, the one written by Scott Mckeever, and Tom's only month off of the title since its' conception.

Hey, do what i do- reread 'em! Sometimes i find that i may have missed the meaning of something when doing so! And if you didn't miss anything, well at least you had fun in the process!

Hey, isn't it time that SSH! put up a Spider-Girl smile for us to use, being that she does have a thread about her comic? Who do we need tto talk to about that around here? They have Sin City smiles, new FF4 smiles, Ghost Rider, but no Spider-Girl. It's time for change gang!

Well, right now I am reading Cable/Deadpool, and Invincible. And trying to get a Spider-girl fig from someone :D I just bought Deadpool off ebay for $17 :( It was loose, and someone bumped up the price in a bidding war :(
