Finally!!! The final conclusion to "Showdown in Midtown!!" (Sorry for the much long awaited delay!) Let's get to the story shall we?
Wedensday, 6:37 a.m. Parker residence.
We start our scene in the kitchen, where May Parker, aka the webstunning Spider-Girl, is having a very serious conversation with someone on her cell phone, and making a bottle for her new baby brother Ben.
May (speaking as soft as possible): "...that's what i've been trying to tell you! Normie's life is in danger! So instead of all your preaching on, "How to be a Superhero 101"- i just need to know if you'll help me! Sheesh....ok....meet me at our usual spot...yeah, the rooftop...ok...and... thanks."
Spider-Sense...someone has just walked in the kitchen with you! Hopefully nothing was overheard...
Peter: "Hey hon, what's taking so long with your brother's bottle? (sarcasticlly) You know how much of a fuss he puts up when he hasn't had his bottle."
May: "Uh..oh yeah..i was just..making sure it wasn't too warm for him. Sorry it took so long, is he acting difficult again?"
Peter: "OOOh yeah!" May hands him the bottle, but Peter senses something wrong with his daughter...
Peter: "Is something troubling you May? I couldn't help but notice that you were on your cell phone, during peak hours mind you, what's going on?"
May (reluctant at first..): "I-It's nothing...dad, i'm just tired from cramming for mid-terms..."
Peter: "May Parker! You do know who you're talking too, right? Well let me remind you since you've forgotten. I was bitten by a radioactive spider at 16, i became a crimefighter as a teenager...stop me if you've heard this before, was ridiculed, and called a menace by the Daily Bugle in nearly every editorial..."
May: "Okay dad- i got it, sheesh! I don't know what to do, i ran into Brenda Drago last night, you know- Raptor? Well she...she turned against me, and i had to fight her....i don't..i don't know. I'm just upset that she went back to crime- she was doing so well."
Peter: "Trust me May, i know exactly how you feel. You want to see people make the right choices in life, but it's their choice to make, and i know that you may have some type of relationship with her that made you feel responsible for her turning on you, but she made her choice May. And it's not your responisbility for the bad choices that people make, hon. Of all the years i gave of my life to help make a difference, one thing i had the hardest time coming to terms with, were the things i had no power to change, and believe sweetheart- it can kill you if you allow it to be the center of way you live this lifestyle. For the all power that spider bite gave me, there was nothing i could do to save the lives of those i loved most, or change the choices that they made for themselves. So focus on the good that you're doing, and as long as you make the right choice to do what's right, that's all that matters."
May: "Wow dad- i can be so self-centered at times and forget that everything i need to know in life, i can always go to you, and mom. Thanks, i needed that . Goes over to hug her father I know that he's proud of you."
Peter: "I know May. I know. Suddenly hearing screams! And i know i'd better get upstairs with this bottle!"
May: "Oh yeah, judging by that bellow, he's really upset! Hey dad...thanks."
Peter (quickly heading upstairs): "Anytime kiddo. Just know that although your mother and i worry about you, we're also very proud of you too, and we believe in you."
Mary Jane (yelling): "I've got a very hostile baby up here, and a bottle would really soothe things over with him!!
Peter: "Here i come MJ!! Alright May, duty calls! Have a good day at school!
As May smiles as her father runs up the stairs, she then thinks to herself: "He believes in me?! Wow, having Ben must really be softening him up! I wonder if he would have said the same things to me if he knew that Brenda also knew my secert idenity, AND that this whole fiasco isn't over yet because now Normie is somehow involved...how am i going to be able to concentrate at school when i don't even know who else i'm up against! Speaking of school, i'd better get outta here- i told Chris i'd walk with him to school! Chris! Oh boy! He's no Brad Miller, or Jack Jameson, but he's the only boy that i feel as though i can trust. I'd better forget that right now, i told Darkdevil to meet me afterschool today- hopefully he'll have some leads that'll make sense out of this whole debacle!"
And speaking of Darkdevil, we zoom over to the Law Office of Foggy Nelson, where Reilly Tyne works as a lawyer...
Secertary: "Leaving for the day Mr. Tyne?"
Reilly: "Yes i am Gladys, i have to meet a...client a little later this afternoon! I have my cell phone with me, in case Mr. Nelson'll need me for anything!"
As Reilly Tyne leaves the building, he quickly slips into the nearest alleyway, and as he finds the suclusion he needs, he then summons the ability to morph into the vigilente known as Darkdevil! "I told Spider-Girl i'd help her get information on the whereabouts of Normie Osborn. But what she doesn't know is that Osborn is my boss, and friend's step-son, Foggy Nelson! It should take me no time to gain the information i need, and learn of who the ring leader of this operation is, and i know just where to go!"He then uses his ability to teleport himself to an unknown location. Meanwhile, back at Midtown High School, school has let out for the day...
Chris: "Thanks for walking with me to school May, i really appreciate getting a chance to get to know you and all..."
May: "It's no problem Chris, and i hate to cut out on you, but my dad and i are... going to the mall to pick up something for my baby brother. I'm so sorry! Maybe we could finish this discussion another time?"
Chris: "Uh...yeah, sure. Maybe anthoer time then."
May: "Thanks, you're a sweetheart! I'll talk to you later, okay?!"
She takes off, and as she does Chris looks on with a smile.
"I really hate taking off on Chris like that, but this is way too important! I'm supposed to be hooking up with DD in an half hour, and i'm hoping he'll have some leads to help piece this thing together...." Waiting until the coast was clear, May then uses her spider-like ability,and leaps to the top of her schools gym to change into the webstunning Spider-Girl! With a tap of a trigger embedded in her palm, she spins a web-line, and takes to the skies! With effortless motion, she swings between building to building, as she makes her way to her destination. Then suddenly...Spider-Sense!!
"Looking for Darkdevil, my dear? I'm sorry, but he's...out, for the moment! But i do hope that you'll accept me as his replacement!"
Spider-Girl (breaking her web-line, and landing on top of the rooftop): "So it was YOU all along!! Where is Normie Osborn, and what have you done to Darkdevil- Lady Ock?!!"
Lady Ock: "Yes, well as i said early- the Devil is, shall i say- in disposal? And as for Osborn, you'll have to defeat me to get that information! Being that all you have is your spider-power, and those puny web-shooters as your weapons against my my supreme intellect, and artifically intelligent arms- i don't think you'll be recieving that information just yet my dear!"
Spider-Girl: "You may have beaten me in previous encounters, Ock, but this time- SPIDER-GIRL WILL BRING YOU DOWN!!"
Lady Ock: "Is that so? My, don't we sound confident today! My dear, if you think i'm at all galled by your words- YOU'RE MISTAKENED!! By the way, how was your reunion with friend Raptor??
Spider-Girl: "Oh yeah, i meaning to asking you about her! So what'dya say to her to turn her against me Ockie? That you'd give her an even lamer costume than yours?" She then lunges towards Ock, avoiding her tentacales attack, and then lands a quick left hook to her face!!
Ock: "UGHH!! Okay little girl...i see you've come to play! Well...so have i!!" With that, as Spider-Girl leaps away from Ocks' attack, she's caught by a tentacale, and thrown hard to rooftop's floor!! Trying to recover, the tentacales then quickly grab her- squeezing the air, and life out of her!! "Still feeling confident now? I've always told you that i could destroy you anytime i so desired! Now the time has come for you to die!!"
Spider-Girl: "AAARRGGHH!!" I've got to think fast! I'm going to blackout soon! J-Just one chance to get this shot off..!!"
She fires two tiny strands of webbing at the feet of Lady Ock, and pulls with all her might! Lady Ock's feet are then taken from her, and she hits the deck head first with a great tud!! The tentacales release Spider-Girl to help regain Ock's fighting stance, and as they tend to their master, Spider-Girl quickly regains her compsure, and strikes at Ock as fast as she can! Two tentacales come to attack her, while Ock composes herself, but Spider-Girl webs them up, and yanks them to her- bringing Ock along for the ride! Before Ock realizes what's going on, she's met with a vicious straight jab to the face, followed by a stunning right cross!!
Spider-Girl: "I told you Ock, you're going down!! But before Spider-Girl can land the final blow to her enemy, she's recieves a buzz in the back of her head- warning her of impending danger, but she reacts too late before she's hit with a high voltage of electricity from Ock's tentacale!! "AAARRGGH!!" She is then rendered unconcious. As Ock slowly gets to her feet, a smile of satisfaction curls her lips as she looks at her fallen adversary...
Ock: "Though you may have brought your "A" game today girl, you're still no match for my all powerful arms! Enjoy your rest for now my sweet, for when you awaken, you'll feel the fury of DOCTOR OCTOPUS!!"
As she stands over Spider-Girl, gloating over her victory, the tentacales pick up our herione, and they move from the rooftop to a destination unknown! What will happen to our Hero? What about Darkdevil and Normie Osborn? The plot again thickens!! I know i said that this was the conclusion of this short, but wait until you see what's in store for our web-stunner!! Stay tuned!!
