Comics Doesn't anyone else read Spider-Girl??

what about the twins in Spider-Girl do you guys think that May could take them?
Of course she could! She's well seasoned now as a crimefighter compared to when she first started out. May has truly come into her own these past few issues, she just needs to settle in her confidence in herself, and her abilites to defeat her opposition- she's virtually unstoppable. The Ladyhawks used to give May fits before, during their practice meetings, but she's come along nicely since then. Her biggest weakness though- lack of confidence.

And speaking of the Ladyhawks, when is Tom gonna reveal that Davida is the other member/twin of the 'Dramatic Duo"? It's only obvious that Davida is a Ladyhawk, i don't know why May hasn't figured it out yet! I'm also wondering if Phil will be returning as the Goblin too.

i would like to see all the M2 heros ( at least the ones involved with May) team up to take down BT.

Wow. This is a fantastic thread. I have been slowly reading through it from the beginning. I have liked what you started, BLAQUE-SPIDERMAN .

I read the trade paperback that includes issues 0 through 9 this weekend. I was really impressed. That was my introduction to the book. It reminded me a lot of the early Stan Lee Spider-man books. Very simple stories. Telegraphed endings, and themes. (I don't mean that in a bad way at all.) Everything is written broadly. So perfect for little kids. I also thought the addition of May was an excellent female superhero. Not some sort of boobiefied sex machine. Just a girl with some powers.

Great stuff.

I am thinking of buying this book for my niece. Try to get her to read some comic books. Superheros shouldn't just be for boys.

I am really surprised that they haven't come out and said that Davida was a Ladyhawk. They hinted at it heavily in Ladyhawk's first appearance.

I can't believe how long this comic has run! Is it up to 80 issues now? Wow. I first saw it's existence while reading about it in a series of web pages about the clone saga. I am not the biggest fan of that saga, but this is something great that has come from it. Great job Tom DeFalco!

First off, Welcome to Spider-Girl Hype!, Pricciar, and thanks you for the kind words about the thread. I'm glad that you enjoy Spider-Girl (like the rest of us here! ;) ), and like you- i've also decided to send Spider-Girl comics to my nephew. I hope also that you'll also decide to pick the book up for yourself, because there's some good stuff ahead for Ms. May Parker, and plus that might just give you a reason to come back and post with us again! (Either way, we hope you'll come back and join us!) So in closing, feel free to post questions, or whatever is on your mind, and we'll be happy to answer them in any way! Later!

well i know that May is a team-player and all, but i really think she could use a couple of solid (solo) victories under her belt to get her confidence up to par with her abilites. She really hasn't had a good victory to boast since she smashed Seth, the Serpent god, and we all know that was a while ago! So kickin' Ocks' and BT's butt would be very good for her, and would set the stage up perfectly for her upcoming battle with this new female Goblin (IMO).

I know i've been doing this a bit after posting, but my mind opens up to the great possibilties of things regarding Spider-Girl! Since Normie's "wife" was some mail-order bride set-up by good ol' Norman Osborn, i was thinking that she may be an affiliate of the Goblins' old crew, the Scriers. My reason for saying this is based off her costume design. Her mask's face looks a little bit like the Scriers, and the Goblin at the same time. I don't know, but i'm just expressing my interests in what Tom may have up his sleeve, and what different angles he may choose to go in. Anyone has any thoughts on this subject? Anything they'd like to add? Holla at'cha boy!

Makes ya wonder exactly how the female goblin found all of Norman's stuff. Was she brought in by Norman while he was in Europe? Did she find it through Normie? She should have a nice backstory and it oughta be a fun read when we get it.

Definitely. But do you think she has any ties to the Scriers? I believe she does, being that old man Norman wanted the last male Osborn to carry on in the Goblin tradition, and Harry failed, he may have set the marriage up for Normie in attempts to keep him in line with that tradition. But the story should be good, and i can hardly wait!

Sorry about that, I meant to say she would have ties to the scriers and all because she was pulled in by Norman while he was in Europe, almost like she was a part of the organization and then Norman had the idea of marrying her off to Normie. Although after thinking for a sec, that might not be right due to the ages, so perhaps she is one of Norman's scrier's kids or something like that. Is the new SG out now or is it next week? I forgot.

You know, i was just thinking- if Spider-Girl continues on, and gets past all this cancellation/extension stuff, just think of the great stories in store for May when she goes off to college! I honestly believe that's Tom's dream, to see this comic blossom into a legacy of its' own, and continue on in the Spider-tradition that Stan started. I can only hope, and continue to support this book, awaiting to see what the future holds.

i agree. but i still would like to see the M2 heros in the climax like taking down the entire BT empire. maybe BT could be trying to escape and there are heros tearing apart his henchmen and he is traped with Kaine.

Well, that's one thing Tom has never really indulged in as a part of May's character development- what where her goals before her powers matured (well other than being a basketball player, which she loved before she got addicted to web-swinging!). We know she tried the photog thing, and it didn't quite work out! So being that she's not to keen on violence, maybe she has a future in a non-violent organization, or something...i don't know!

maybe she could politely collect for loan sharks. what if she marries Normie and becomes a house wife? she takes care of the house during the day and by night fights crime.

Well i don't see May as the housewife kind, she's too smart for that type of role, but know that she won't be able to spin webs forever. Especially now that Ben will take over the role as Spider-Man, and continue on in the family tradition of fighting crime.

she could be a nurse or a doctor. but she wouldn't have the time for college to be a doctor and crime fighting. police detective? has there ever been any pics done of Ben when he is older like teens? is he like his dad or is he big and strong?

I like the sound of May maybe considering detective work in her very distant future (i'm still enjoying her web-swinging!), and as far as a pic of Ben in his teens, the only thing i've ever seen of him was his appearence in an Earth X spin-off titled, Spidey. It came out a couple of years ago. In Earth X, May became the new Venom, and Peter stopped being Spider-Man, and became a cop. Anyway, in that issue- May tried to save Peter while he was trapped in an alternate reality (as if the one they were in wasn't already "alternate" enough!) that he created in his mind. In it, he was married to Gwen, and MJ and Harry were married. When she went in to confront Peter, that's when she fought against the new Spider-Man, Ben Parker, who was trying to protect his mother and father from Venom- (unbeknown that it was really May). Ben was a very good Spider-Man, but he had a lot of the same habits that his old man had too during combat, which lead to May getting the best of him, and then unmasking him to see it was her little brother she'd been fighting with. It was cool issue to read, because May was in control of the symbiote, and she was unstoppable! She also had an edge about her that she ultimately will develop as she gets older, and more seasoned as a superhero.

Well, I'm not sure I'd call it her brother. This was Pete's "ideal" life, and in it, he never had her, he had a son instead, and instead of MJ, he ended up with Gwen.

what issues in Earth X. it sounds great but i think i need to read it to fully understand.
