Doesnt look like we are going to get a sequel.

That's really the first time it's been like that though, no?

It's most commonly know that Banner changes when he becomes angry. That's how I've always understood it.

I mean, I've never heard him say, 'Don't make my pulse fast. You won't like me when my pulse is fast.'

So a while back, a very thoughtful and observant poster made an important suggestion: maybe Banner just thinks the change is related to his pulse rate and not to other biological contributing factors, such as release of adrenaline and norepinephrine combined with a disturbed emotional state. Sure, the movie suggests that he can't embark on Liv Tyler disneyland, but maybe there is more to it to explore in a sequel.

If there will be no sequel, then what the hell was this and this? Was it all just bullcrap from them both?

Excellent point. I just about forgot about those interviews. Seems like Hurd and Maisel want to include Hulk in the Avengers and Hurd makes a good point about the time spent between installments. Yeah, I'm not that disappointed now even though no hulk sequel by 2012. There is always 2013.

Yeh, it's a good idea. I don't think I'd be able to do Liv either, though. She looks too much like her dad.

lol

I'm not saying she's ugly - I can see she's far from it.

I was seeing a girl once, and she was completely HOT. I couldn't wait to nail her. We were out at a bar and she said 'Oh, my brother's in town. You can meet him.'

I was like, 'K.'

He came along and I was like, 'Wow, err, don't you look like each other '

Now she didn't look like a he, and he didn't look like a she, but the family resemblance just gave me a big floppy one. I didn't want to be pushing and pulling and then looking down at her brother.

I know. I have issues.

I know exactly what you mean man.

One of my friends younger sister is frickin gorgeous. But her face resembles his a little too much, so i would never crack onto it.

Thats true.
Four Saw sequels and a Fifth planned for this year and Hulk's been dropped TWICE!

There are THREE Underworld movies for **** sake!

Yeah, but Saw and Underworld both cost considerably less to make than a Hulk movie...

I really do hope they make a sequeal. TIH kicked butt, and there is so much left open for another one. up:

I thought Norton wanted out cause he was pissed at the director? Just fire the director and give Norton that position. He could write, act and direct. But I think he's signed on for Avengers either way.

That wasn't the rumored trouble with Hulk.

The rumor was that Norton butted heads with Marvel over the final cut of the movie. Marvel wanted a shorter, more action packed cut.

Also, no Hulk forums = weak sauce. Where am I supposed to ***** about Red Hulk now?

Use the Avengers forum.

It might actually be worth suggesting having a Hulk sub-forum inside The Avengers.

That's what I remember hearing.

I think its likely Marvel do plan on having the Hulk in the Avengers movie (Hulk, Thor & Iron Man were among the founding members after all, and along with Captain America, these will all have been established in Marvel's movieverse prior to Avengers).

Getting Norton to reprise the role might take some work, especially has he wont be the main name this time round and it seems he didn't exactly get on with Marvel at the end, but afaik theres been no bridges burnt there so it could still be on.

A sequel for the Hulk himself? That I figure will depend on how well Marvel's films do before and with the Avengers (ie: If Iron Man 2 and Thor rake in the cash, I wouldn't be surpised if a Hulk sequel was greenlit shortly afterwards)

I think Kevin Feige said they don't have a plan for another Hulk yet at Marvel because they want to focus on getting the other characters (Thor, Cap) on the screen, because Hulk had two movies in five years. But the Hulk is definitely gonna be in the Avengers. Norton is probably still gonna be involved, seems like he still wants to play Bruce.

It's not gonna happen. They did not make enough of a profit. Hulk had two chances... they failed. I really thought we'd have an outside shot for a sequel in 2012. Maybe Marvel can still fit a film in there. Unlikely since SM5 may be done back to back and will take a mid June 2012 release where TIH 2 would have gone. Plus we know now that Marvel does not have to do two films a year. They will concentrate solely on Avengers. Banner will probably be recasted though.

With DVD sales the Hulk made approx. 321 million, is not too bad I dont think

If TIH 2 is hypothetically planned for 2013 then you'd have to start pre-production well before Avengers is even out. How is that going to work exactly? The only way it happens is if Marvel is able to negotiate a new two picture deal with Norton from the getgo. And even then there is no guarantee Hulk will do well by himself again even after an Avengers movie. It's too big a commitment for both Marvel and Norton. I mean if they wait longer than that you start getting into reboot time frames if it isn't a reboot time frame already. I honestly think there is money to be made, but I don't think Marvel will go through with another Hulk solo film unless it encompasses some new stuff, including characters from the expanded Marvel universe and what not. That's the only way to maintain the level of interest IMO.

That all makes sense to me.

Out of curiosity, were are you getting your DVD sales figures? I only ask as The-numbers.com only shows TIH making just over $57 million domestically on DVD.

Yeah, Earliest I can see a Hulk sequel now would be 2014, as they will probably wait to see how Avengers will do, and how the characters popularity will be viewed after that. I think Hulk's role in Avenger's and were it places him with the GA will be a big factor in him getting another solo movie.

I don't know where he's getting his figures, but The-Numbers doesn't include HD sales in their figures

Is where I got them , list DVD at 57 million and domestic/foreign total at 263.

Here's the thing though; If the Avengers movie does well, and they greenlight a Hulk sequel, i think they need to drop the whole "Betty Ross" angle, and just go for a full blown out battle between the Hulk and the Leader/Abomination/Humanoids...

Hell, have The Leader take over Gamma Base and threaten the world with Nuculear devastation...something along those lines.

Yeah well I don't Marvel taking another year off... "Hey we made a **** load with Avengers now let's sit on our asses for a year..." That is the LAST thing I want... not that I want to see them fast tracking something and happassing it out of greed. We need something lined up for 2013. I don't want a 2009 summer where it is one crap ass Fox film and nothing else. Maybe they'll do the Fantastic Four reboot. Hopefully something else. Probably an X-Men movie from Fox. Maybe SM5 if it doesn't already happen in 2012. Maybe some C-list characters like Dr. Strange, Black Panther... whatever. I want at least one tentpole that year though.

Sounds like a Michael Bay film.....
