Yes, this will do very nicely. :D

Interesting, didn't know this:

That would explain the awkward premiere date.

Picking up a series as awful looking as Do No Harm was idiotic of them. They should've had Hannibal locked into a January premiere from the word GO.

That'd of definitely helped ratings. I knew something was off, just didn't know that that's what it was. I wonder how much better it would have done over the summer as originally planned. I think it would have had an extreme ratings boost and be "the show" of the summer alongside Dome.

If it doesn't return in the fall, it's doomed.

Depends on when production starts

If it could survive the premiere date, timeslot and numbers it got this season, it could survive anything. I'm sure January will be a better place to start, though.

Almost two weeks after its upfront presentation, NBC has decided the fate of its last remaining bubble series, giving drama Hannibal a 13-episode second-season renewal for a return next midseason or later. The series, based on the characters from the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, was developed for television by Bryan Fuller, who executive produces. “We’re so proud of Bryan’s vision for a show that is richly textured, psychologically complex, and very compelling,” NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said. “There are many great stories still to be told.”

returning next midseason or LATER?... hmmmm...

Later being SUMMER.

I personally think summer will see a ratings bump. There's not many good shows on in the summer, or at least that I know of, so having one of the few actually good shows on? I don't see how that wouldn't bring in higher ratings. Being in the summer might be a detractor though despite the benefit of a dry spell on TV, unsure. CBS' (just realized it wasn't NBC) 'Under the Dome' will be a very good indicator of this. Plus, even though it's the summer - I'm unsure how many are still out after 10 on a weekday...

Also I'd really and absolutely hate for season 2 to start in the fall. With the schedule it's on now - that'd be a rushed production, or at least I'm pretty sure it would be, since the season finale is June 20. That seems way too soon to wrap a series and head into the second season.

It was barely renewed, NBC wouldn't rush it out this fall - they're rolling out new shows in hopes they get new hits.

They'll likely stick it on Fridays at 10/9c after Grimm because Dracula and Crossbones will only fill 10 weeks each so there is something that needs to fill that slot. Grimm is a better lead in than the low rated comedies it got on Thursday.

Indeed.

Lets just hope that NBC is fine with these ratings since it will likely stay the same next season.

wth, Hannibal? [blackout]for what elegant purpose did Hannibal kill that doctor at the end, that was freaking weird? i thought Hannibal only kills rude people???[/blackout]

[BLACKOUT]If I remember correctly, he prefers to kill rude people but will not hesitate to kill an innocent person if he finds it necessary in any way. Also, seeing him calmly hand her the scissors and then walk out was hilarious. [/BLACKOUT]

the way he so casually killed him in general in that patrick bateman-esque raincoat was awesome.

Damn. Pretty lousy episode tonight, I thought. Once again, a complete departure from last week's plot with little to no mention of it. Getting frustrated at the way the show flips back and forth between plots, dropping stories and then picking them up again in a different episode. It's messing with the "flow" of the season, IMO.

the killer in this ep actually reminded me a bit of this demonic looking green skinned woman who looked somewhat similar to her in a dream i had when i was 7. she'd chase me around the neighborhood at night cutting my back up with her nails and nearly killing me.

..... yea.... :o

anyways, basically i liked this ep. probably the most disturbing so far.

I hope that David Slade directs episodes for S2. I love the visual touch he's given the show and how his fellow directors have taken the ball and ran with it.

This just made my whole day! :D

I missed something about Georgia. Why is her body rotting?

holy creepy.

That attack on Will in the murdered girls bedroom scared me more than any horror film in years. Great episode...

I agree. I thought the episode was good, but I really hope they focus the show more in Season 2. The killer a week thing with slight connections to previous episodes is making it too police-procedural.

Like, why was the FBI's current most elite serial killer division investigation what seemed to be an isolated murder? Other than to show another cool dead body?

I love the show, but I think it definitely has room for improvement now that they have another season to work with.

I didn't quite get that either, or just what it was that Will has. Encephalitis? That's not treatable?

Eklypze hasn't even heard the news yet, has he?

after all this time, he's probably a puddle of mindless jelly by now... the renewal news should reconstitute his ass in NO time, LOL...
