Dr. Lecter Invites you to Dinner. The ''Hannibal'' Thread - Part 2

Finished binge-watching all of season one.

After I was done, I punched myself square in the face for not watching it sooner.

Serves you right. :o

Looking back at the episode, I love that the entire time Hannibal was hanging from the meat hook, he wasn't the least bit concerned about his fate. He was so at ease, he looked genuinely interested in whatever nonsense happened to be coming out of Verger's mouth.

I thought he had revealed in an earlier conversation that he didn't fear death. I was reminded of this when I was watching the same scene.

Mason was pretty damned hilarious trying to crack all those Italian jokes and falling flat.

"Well send The Doktore's cajones to Matteo's family....for uh....comfort."

I really want to see the reaction from Hannibal when Will turns on him. I feel like he's truly integrated himself as Hannibal's friend, probably the only one he's ever had.

So I started watching this. I got to episode 4 and was confused by the episode length so I found a full copy online.

It's pretty good so far. I sometimes have a hard time understand Hannibals accent but that's really the only problem.

The conversation that Gillian Anderson character had with Jack Crawford implied to me that he knows Will is playing him.

Lecter is always so calm and calculating even when he's in what appears to be a bad situation ala the last ep….i love it. He is literally the coolest villain on tv!

I think that was the implication, but I don't know, I'm not convinced. I feel like if Hannibal truly knew, he wouldn't have blatantly put Mason's mutilation in front of Will and probably would've killed him by now. Will has really crafted such an in depth deceit, that I would honestly find it somewhat disappointing if we found out that Hannibal knew all along, and it was part of some plan to be actually be exposed and go on the run.

lol!

I thought Hannibal actually killed him when he twisted his neck and that the scene at the end where he's talking to Jack and his sister, was actually his dead body that was somehow being animated/moved, to make it look like he was alive….

…also, did they ever say what exactly Beverly saw down in Lecters basement right before he killed her? I hope this is revealed in the finale.

"Eat my....eat my nose...."

It was like a marvellous possibility he had never considered before :funny:

This is your brain on Hannibal...

Finished Season 1. Loved all the callbacks to the movies, especially the ending. Onto 2!

Is S2 done?

Not yet. Finale is on Friday.

I really need to catch up on this show I'm behind 4 Episodes. Maybe I'll catch up this week before the Finale. I've been catching up on other shows during this past weekend.

So I have three days to watch 12 episodes? That's doable.

Made me think of Paprika. Like, I was expecting a crazy ass marching band and a parade to bust through the door any time. Great how they would cut from Mason's crazy pov back to reality. I wish they would come out and say exactly what he Hannibal gave him though. PCP would've done that easily but it's still very unpredictable plus, he said he gave him a few different psychedelics. I dunno. I just wanna know lol

Finally caught up to Hannibal and Oh My God. I'll put my Reaction in Spoiler tags since there's people here still trying to catch up to the show.

Michael Pitt has is bloody brilliant as Mason Verger and yeah I was getting a Joker type vibe when he was feeding the dogs his face

It was great seeing Gillian Anderson come back again and that scene don't get me started on that scene.

omg it was both shocking and gross at the same time can't believe NBC let this show get away with that but I love them for it. what a fantastic episode.

Classic stuff.

All this talk of Michael Pitt playing Joker reminds me, when I left Captain America 2 I mentioned that I thought Mads Mikkelsen would play a great Red Skull. My friend agreed.

Mikkelsen in person sounds a lot different. It's almost like he has more accent on the show.

Yeah he does. It's strange.

By the way, how would you guys feel about a shortened 6 episode Season 4 for Red Dragon? Fuller suggested that a while ago, and now that we know we're getting a Season 3, I was just thinking ahead and wondering if maybe Seasons 4 through 7 may not go with the full 13 but rather follow that 6 episode miniseries esque format he suggested a while back. What do you guys think?
