US: Listen, we need to know whether Hannibal is being renewed or not!

NBC: Now it puts the lotion in the basket ...

US: Why won't you tell us?!

NBC: It puts the lotion in the basket. It does what it's told ...

US: Please! We'll buy the DVDs! We'll download on iTunes! Anything!

NBC: Put the ******* lotion in the basket!

I caught a little bit of "Hannibal" last night, I forgot how awful that movie is.

Maybe NBC forgot this show exist

I think after tomorrow's "special episode of Hannibal" presented at 10:15 EST and with limited commercial interruption (thank the Lord), we'll have our answer.

I think they are having too much fun toying with us to give it up that easily. :(

I get to see this episode tonight but I'll still be watching tomorrow night too.

I like how the 5 Hannibal movies kind of mirror Star Wars:

Movie 1: Hey, this is pretty good.

Movie 2: This is awesome!

Movie 3: Ummm, okay. Well, at least I have some closure to the story.

Movie 4: Are you kidding me?!

Movie 5: Seriously, are you kidding me?!

I'd think Movie 4 would be a little more "Oh, this again?!" than anything else...

I am not impressed with Manhunter at all. I think it's very dated and the acting is pretty bad.

The Silence of the Lambs is pretty much perfect.

I find Hannibal entertaining, but it lacks psychological depth and goes over-the-top into grotesque camp, and sometimes, especially as it goes, it just gets silly. I still find it entertaining though.

Red Dragon, to me, is "meh". Nowhere near Lambs and not even as entertaining or stylish as Hannibal. It just has no flair and is very flat.

I haven't seen Hannibal Rising, nor do I have any desire to. The trailer and clips look ridiculous.

I find Hannibal to be one of the most dreamlike and seductive films ever made, though by its own admission it's really more of a sequel to the characters rather than a sequel to story and style of SotL.

Hannibal Rising is a surprisingly good slasher/revenge movie. I went into it expecting it to be awful but enjoyed it quite a bit.

‘Hannibal’ Subject Of Outside Interest While Awaiting Renewal Decision At NBC
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

There are several comedy and drama pilots not picked up to series yet that are still in play. But among returning scripted series, only one, NBC drama Hannibal, went through the upfronts without learning its fate. The series, from Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller, got off to a solid ratings start and was in serious contention for an early renewal. The numbers eventually tapered off, and NBC put the renewal decision on hold. Hannibal was well reviewed, and I hear there has been interest from at least one cable network in case NBC passes on a second season. Additionally, I hear Amazon, which currently carries repeats of the show, has expressed interest in taking it on. There are no talks going on and Hannibal has not been shopped as the producers are waiting on a renewal at NBC. Hannibal, from Gaumont International Television, is produced under a different model at a license fee that is a fraction of what dramas with similar production values cost.

Please, if it comes to it, let it be someone other than Amazon or AMC.

Amazon hasn't done enough to know how well they would handle it. Zombieland looks like trash, but who knows. Since this show is split-financed, it would probably stay the current quality.

I really hate how much the Boston Bombings may have dicked over this show...

I'm betting that other network is A & E. Imagine it:

9 pm Bates Motel
10 pm Hannibal

It just seems like the perfect match.

If it's produced at a fraction of what dramas with similar production values cost, why wouldn't NBC keep it on and give it time to flourish (which it will if it finishes out this season and then builds an even larger audience with anticipation for a second season)? If NBC lets this go, they're idiots. They'll sit back and watch it succeed on another network, as it becomes one of cable's Breaking Bad-type of shows -- critically acclaimed, award-winning, strong viewership, strong sales on home video. Has the potential to be a big loss for NBC.

A slow-building, character-driven show like this needs time to build its story AND audience. If I was an NBC exec, I wouldn't dream of canceling this show. I would let THIS be the ONE risk that NBC chooses NOT to abandon because it has the potential to be a classic. A game-changer.

Tonight's episode is going to be a must-watch for all of you. That's all I'll say.

I loved Red Dragon, and that's coming from a guy who HATES Brett Rattner.
