Dr. Lecter Invites you to Dinner. The ''Hannibal'' Thread - Part 1

It was much more true to the book than Manhunter. Not that accuracy to the book is the most important thing ever (Manhunter has its 80s Michael Mann charms). But given that I love that book and its creepy feel and all the weird details about Dollarhyde that Manhunter left out....well I dug Rattner's version better. Wish he'd make more movies like that instead of Rush Hour/Tower Heist/X3. The guy has said De Palma is a huge influence on him. If that's so why does he make these dumbass broad comedies and franchise ruining misfires?

okay hopefully this doesn't mean anything, it might be because i live in PA , but at 10:15 my guide says some thing called " scranton says goodbye " is on after the office, and i'm hoping it's just my guide being dumb and that hannibal is still on at 10:15. i'm not the only one with this happening right ?

Oh man, after watching episode 8, I REALLY don't want for this show to get canceled!

I would nerd all over the place if Hannibal at some point referred to one of his victims as "free-range rude"

yep. great. can't watch the ep thanks to the goddamn office and the fact that i live in PA. fantastic.

How are they getting around the episode starting at 10:15? Less commercials?

Even with the limited commercial interruption, tonight's episode flew by; I was on the edge of my seat for most of it. The trapped animal in the chimney and wounded animal outside made the episode feel like it was ghost-written by Poe.

WHAT WILL I DO WHEN THESE EPISODES ARE OVER?

I saw last week's ep and thought it was the best so far.

Then I saw this one.

Next week's episode looks EVEN BETTER.

AHH. THIS SHOW.

WHAT WILL I DO WHEN THESE EPISODES ARE OVER?

Wait until next season?

We already know one network is interested in acquiring it. So, when/if NBC drops it - that network (TNT, A&E, TBS, AMC) will pick it up.

I agree with all of the above, this episode was great, fly by, next week looks even better. How could anyone think of cancelling this show?

How do they really know what people are watching?

That is a very interesting question; I once tried to read up on it, but became lost and uninterested, due to the large amount of jargon.

I think tonight's episode became my favorite episode so far

Really like the subtle moments of a budding friendship between Hannibal and Will...hate to see that fall apart if Hannibal doesn't get cancelled :csad:

I think they judge it based upon how many TVs are tuned into a certain channel. And then they can probably now tell when a show is being recorded, it is the digital age. And then on demand they probably chalk up as more numbers. Or, I think that's it. Deadline has already reported a network is interested in it though, so worse case scenario is just changing channels.

Pretty badass office smackdown.

I like how Hannibal bashed him over the head and then just played some piano. Like a boss.

i got to watch this episode at a later showing of it and........ damn .....

mindblowing, really. the show just keeps getting better and better.

i loved the office fight. LOVED it. so brutal , and we finally got to see hannibal actually kill not one but 2 people in one badass scene. dat neck crack.... lol. i loved how casually he did it too. i could imagine someone pressing a "that was easy " button after that. lmao

Expletive with a F! That was great episode.

I keep forgetting Hannibal airs a day early in Canada.

The brawl was very cool, but my favorite moment was definitely the final line, the not-so-subtle implication oozed from Hannibal with the tight close up. Splendid.

actually the word I heard is that it was a cable network...

...and was the chello-man the most F'd up thing ever shown on TV

Hope it's a channel I get. :(

Next week Hannibal goes back to airing on Thursday in Canada since Scandal had its season finale this week. That's the stupid show that screwed up the schedule. So now no real spoilers until Thursday.
