Dr. Lecter Invites you to Dinner. The ''Hannibal'' Thread - Part 2

I was actually going to suggest Ellen Page when you guys were discussing this but thought "Ehhh. I'd just get *****ed at." :oldrazz:

By the time the role comes around, Page will be at least as old as Foster was when she played Clarice. And Foster's Clarice looks pretty youthful. She's a good actress (Page) and would do well with the intimidated rookie look up against Mikkelson's terrifying, incarcerated Lecter.

I'm not sure I've seen Ellen Page play anyone badly. I'd happily watch her in that role. :)

Fuller has yet to make a mistake with the show, so I'll trust his judgment, even though Page was not at the top of the list of performers I was hoping would acquire the role.

I've disliked Ellen Page since Inception. The fandom surrounding her has always been baffling to me. The same goes for the Mara sisters.

I trust Fuller, but that suggestion... just no. We need someone with actual talent who isn't just playing themselves in every other film or TV series (or game if we're considering Beyond: Two Souls).

So will Pitt's Verger be appearing before or after Hannibal is outed as the Ripper?

Also, considering the Season Opener.
Do you all believe that Graham will suffer his Red Dragon fate with being stabbed by Lecter? Or with that opener will Crawford be standing in his place?

LOL at the end scene, Hannibal got Hannibal'ed.

I was like, "DAM!" is he getting a taste of his own medicine!

I'm interested to se how he's affected by this event.I assume he'll play up the whole victim angle to further discredit Will's theories about him…..

Crawford.

Being type-cast in a role here and there (not even close to every other film) is far from any kind of basis to argue the woman as no "actual talent". At the very least her roles in Trailer Park Boys and Hard Candy prove she has range. I mean you don't have to like Page, there are actors and actresses I'd sooner avoid watching too, but claiming she's talentless is a stretch.

Heck, who Matthew McConoughey was capable enough to do the things he did in True Detective? Here's hoping Page gets the role, and surprises you.

While I said Page was not in my top 5, I am certain she will be excellent, if the SOTL season happens. Fuller can do no wrong.

Nothing about that scene seems similar to what you're comparing it to.

It was said in the casting description that Verger's sister appears as a patient of Hannibal's, so probably beforehand. I assume he and Mason would have their moment towards the end of the season but Pre-Crawford fight scene.

So, I'm not sure what it's actually suppose to be, but Hulu is starting a web series called In the Kitchen with Hannibal. This is the description:

Dr. Hannibal Lecter shares his most treasured recipes on this new kind of cooking show, coming only to Hulu this Fall

It's labeled as a Comedy.

Hell, I'd hope so. And I never really had a problem with Matthew McConaughey prior to True Detective, honestly. I'm not sure I viewed him as super talented, but he was fine in my book. And I just don't like her, I guess. She seems very, very whatever. I don't think calling her talentless is really that much of a stretch either. Even having seen her in her "best" roles, I don't really understand why people love her or what she has to offer.

That was an April Fool's joke.

That's too bad. There are so few good cannibalism-based cooking courses these days.

I completely agree with you. God..

It's interesting to note though, if they really wanted her in the future, David Slade could contact her. He directed her in "Hard Candy", he directs the most important episodes of "Hannibal" + he is an executive producer of "Hannibal".

But no thanks :whatever:

Yeah... We'll see, I guess. Eating crow about this would be nice, but I don't know.

It's been awhile since I read Red Dragon so my memory may be fuzzy. I just thought Graham referenced that everything was relatively normal in the room and then there was the attack once both sides were aware of each other's intentions.

Ah yeah, it was April 1st. Totally slipped my mind.

Very general situation you're describing. I also thought Will got jumped more or less? He knew who the killer was at that point, right? I don't remember either. But also, they aren't at Red Dragon's events, yet.

Even though the ending was ruined in an episode description a while back, it was still a great "Holy ****" moment.

Show is so goddamn good.

Loved the Easter Eggs from Rising (the armor) and SOTL (the census taker.) i thought they had an interesting take on the Rotenburg Cannibal case.)

I think Hannibal believes Will has made a breakthrough in his treatment and that is why he decided to set him free.
