Also Fuller said in an interview with Afterbuzz TV that other networks were ready to pick the series if NBC didn't bring it back.

Holy ****! Jeremy Davies is in this season! Wonder if that could be our our dear old friend Mason

Hannibal Exclusive: Katharine Isabelle Joins Season 2 as
's New Love Interest
Will Graham is about to find love in a hopeless place: Dr. Lecter’s couch.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Hannibal has recruited Canadian Scream Queen Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps, American Mary) to join Season 2 as Margot, a potential romantic interest for Will (she is, after all, a lesbian) who also happens to be a patient of The Carnivorous One.

Described as beautiful and compelling, Margot has suffered years of abuse at the hands of her serial-killer twin brother. (Translation: Girlfriend’s got major issues, so she’ll get along just fine with Will.)

Isabelle, who appeared on Supernatural in Season 2 as one of the “Special Children” and currently recurs on Syfy’s Being Human, will turn up in Episode 8 and stick around for at least four episodes.

Hannibal returns Friday, Feb. 28 at 10/9c.

I guess the TV writer there has no idea who Margot Verger is, and the significance of the character to the in-universe canon.

Ehhh I like her so its cool. I still think the chick from Game of Thrones would've been better. Well, I guess this works cuz it is a younger Margot. But then again, IF the show gets to the Hannibal era I wonder if they'll do a big time jump? They should.

I guess they're moving away from the whole steroid thing.

Just to clarify, by "TV writer" I mean the writer of that article, who doesn't seem to recognize the significance of the Margot Verger character. The writers of the show I have complete faith in.

I really wonder if Davies is playing Mason.

I can't even imagine how twisted a Fuller version of Verger would be post-accident. Hell, even when he's in his prime it'll be serious nightmare fuel.

I just saw the new trailer. That cover of "Stand by Me" was pretty cool.

Was Mason a serial killer? I remember him being a rapist/pedophile/torturer of children, but I don't remember him having killed many of them. Maybe the writers of the show are figuring that sadistic crimes against children is a little too extreme for network TV, and they might be right.

Yes, that's what I figured. Unless TVLine (or whatever media mentioned it) are pulling this out of their head aka "they don't know *****". But I have to admit that, although usually I like things to stick as in canon, this time I won't mind because crimes against children are the worst to me. It won't be easy to watch, not even mention..:csad:

Some of that has to be dream sequence. They aren't going to fry Will's ass for real, that would be the end of the show... right? :(

Oh yea, we can stab babies on Game of Thrones and its no big deal. But on a show about a ****ing cannibal we gotta pull the punches when it comes to even implying kids are being killed and/or messed with. I don't think it's that big of a deal. No subject matter in a show surprised me anymore and honestly, I wanna feel uneasy with some of this stuff. This is ****ing Hannibal, its supposed to rub you the wrong way. They probably will chicken out though, just like with the Molly Shannon episode last year.

Yeah, Verger is the most evil of all the characters Harris created, and if you're adapting the mythology like they are with this show then they'll need to explore that.

Exactly. Mason Verger is seriously ****ed up. They have to hint at his abuse of Margot as well. I really don't want them to shy away from it. Fuller has said he wants to make this almost the definitive version of Hannibal and that should include just how ****ed up and sadistic Verger is. I'm still kinda bummed that we had to get Benjamin Raspail and Jame Gumb analogs with Franklin and Tobias.

But, uh, Game or Thrones is on HBO and not prime time network television on one of the big 4 stations. Shows on HBO like GOT have cursing, male/female nudity, sex, orgies, even more graphic violence than Hannibal...generally less restricted subject matter in every sense.

I'm not saying they HAVE to pull punches or modify the child rape thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Also, Mason Verger's tendencies were only mentioned in passing and briefly described. This show would be discovering Mason at a different time, while he is actively maiming and torturing children. It would (and should) play a large role in his story. But in that sense, Game of Thrones is a bit different since it doesn't air on a station where it is followed by the nightly news featuring stories about real children being murdered.

Remember, a show like Hannibal has already pushed the boundaries of network TV subject matter. I imagine that will continue, but in what ways, I'm not sure.
