Still think I'm low balling it? The full wave of US critics hasn't even started yet. This movie is ending up in the 80's, high 80's is best case scenario as far as I'm concerned.

I do think it is going to end in the 80's but I think 81 may be a little low.

GOTG is in the low 90s and it had no story.

GotG definitely had a story. Not the most complex, but it has plenty of story.

I like the main characters in GOTG but the villain is one of the worse villains in movie history and the movie had no story whitch is why the movie is very overrated.

It does, actually GotG's story is much more refreshing that DS's. DS is almost like IM remake. (And to be fair I also feel GotG to be overrated).

I think even finishing at 80% or even 75% isn't the end of the world. Anyway there's been 1 more Rotten and 1 more Fresh just added, RT still stays at 90%. On Oct 30 and 31 there're 8 reviews added, 3 Rotten and 5 Fresh (before that there were 6 Rotten and 78 Fresh. If RT going below 85% it shouldn't be shocking.

I think it would still kind of be a surprised if it gets below 85. Yes today so far things have not been has good with the 3 rotten and 5 fresh but even movies with great scores of like 90 tend to have a streagth where like 5 out of 10 are rotten.

To me GotG is very middle-to-lower tier of all the MCU films to date. Only ones I'd rank lower than it are TIH and TtDW which are at the bottom. Everything else to me was as good or better.

Don't get me wrong, story is important in any film, but the reason Marvel seems to pull it off is due to a majority of their films having heart. I think that's why Guardians was so well received. You can have a well drawn out story, but without heart, it's shallow.

That's how I feel as well. You can have a strong story, but if you don't like the character then it's not that important.

Also yes it has a story. After losing his mother, young Peter Quill is taken from his home a young age and raised by some space pirates. After striking out on his own, he finds himself embroiled in a conflict over one of the most powerful relics in the universe. In the process he finds the hero inside himself and the family he has been seeking his entire life, while defending the galaxy from eradication.

Well at least RT of Top critics is still 100% with 11 reviews.

But frankly after looking at RT and then seeing the movie I was kind of surprised because the story isn't that strong to warrant such high RT score.

You're using the RT score wrong since you're trying to correlate it with quality when it's really measuring the percentage of critics who would positively recommend a film to a moviegoer. The quality of a film is better reflected in the average rating score.

That lex was really bad to infact it was about my only issue with batman vs superman but it was such a big issue that he like singley brought down the movie a lot.

lol Electro one of worst villains ever. As bad as Lex Luthor in Batman vs Superman. They part of reason why those movies get bad reviews.
