Your mind is just not tactically wired for maximum effectiveness.

Did you see what I said at all? I said I was complaining about complainers. I said that. It was me letting off steam. Like I said, if someone doesn't like the demo, or has NO intentions of getting the game... why are they talking about it? Grow a pair and move onto something else like big boys and girls.

I just played the PC demo and aside from being flashier I'm not seeing this whole dumbed down for consoles tripe.

A lot of PC gamers are just angry people. Not all of them, heck, I game from time to time on my PC as well... but many are and they will look for ANYTHING to complain about if a game is not catered to them.

DA2 is obviously not catered to the PC Gamer... I mean, it doesn't exile them, but it's not EXACTLY playable like DAO was... so... it's "dumbed down" for us console users who don't know how to use a keyboard, mouse and hotkeys.

You know, it's funny. A lot of PC gamers have this attitude that if you play games on a PC, then you're more intelligent and mature than people who play consoles. I wish I was making that up because it's such a dumb stereotype, but it's true. I've seen many, many people on other forums post nonsense like that. Which is so unbelievably ironic, because the very fact that they hold such an opinion automatically makes them less mature.

The funny thing is, and I only played Origins on the PC, it handles almost exactly the same as the first one if a bit faster as Corp said but with the pause function even that's easily nullified if the player can't keep up. I think changing up some of the gameplay mechanics for the console versions was definitely the right move, I'll probably log onto one of my consoles later and give that version a whirl to see how it came off.

At this point I really only have two complaints. The first is and I don't know how well the demo was optimized but it seemed like it could be running better than it was on my computer. It was still more than perfectly playable but I expected the framerate to be smoother and I'm hoping that when the time comes they iron that out since I'd like to stick the settings up to max (seeing as how very high graphics were disabled for the demo).

Secondly, I'm not crazy about the new UI. I preferred the old set-up better aesthetically and pragmatically, though I like the new menus better so there's a bit of trade-off in that regard.

To be honest, I just skimmed most of it as it wasn't about the review at all, which was the point of the post. I'm still kind of annoyed by that and will probably attempt to take revenge at some point in the future.

But really, I wont.

I think if you don't like something, it doesn't automatically mean you should block it out from existence. You can if you want too, but I don't think you should have too is some sort of Gestapo law.

I think you will find if you take a trip outside of that forum and look at "general gaming", this is the case with gamers on on all platforms. In the fact, the only platform I haven't really seen anything in the way of self entitled attitudes, is the wii. Another thing worth noting is that from both the Xbox360 and Playstation 3 community I quite regularly come across a snooty elitist attitude towards the wii dismissed as a casual childrens toy.

I don't think I'm more intelligent or mature than you, I think it's probably case you are smarter than me in both departments, however I think the games on the pc are more intelligent and mature than what you probably play on the console. When changes take place in a opposite direction, it's usually for the console imo.

That's why I said "Man, I HATE "gamers" anymore. Bunch of self centered, this better cater to MY needs and only mine, pricks. "

Most gamers, across all platforms are *****eknobs. PC gamers tend to get most of the flack because they're a bit more snobby about it. Trust me, I used to work at GameStop... and like I said in my post above, fanboyism as a whole is ******ed.

I agree. I said before in Kinect AND Move threads that the "hardcore" will trash the Wii's motion controls yet buy up and praise the Kinect/Move... The Wii, IMHO is JUST as good of a gaming machine as the PS3/360... just for different style games.

I just played the demo on the PS3 and I can see they did a very good job console-izing the game. I'm actually considering picking up a second copy down the line.

I don't know if you played the console version of Origins at all, but it seems more or less the same to me. The only real gameplay difference being where you have to manually attack (speaking of which, I wish there was an auto-attack option(maybe they could patch that in at some point.))

No but I've seen the console version. I think the speed of this game lends itself to a console better than the first one did, correct me if I'm wrong but you can link your manual attacks with your powers more easily this time around.

Yeah, on the consoles it's basically an action-RPG. Bottom button is standard attack and the other face buttons can be mapped to whatever powers you want. You can also map a second set of powers to the face buttons if you hold R2/RT.

I just checked on the Bioware forums and the slight jitters with the framerate I was experiencing was simply due to some issue concerning DX11 with the demo that they've apparently already rectified for the retail, so that's a plus.

Weird, I made a backup of my hold harddrive when I bought a new one, transfered all that on the new harddrive and my saves were still there.

It won`t let you backup to a new PS3 from what I understand, but you can still transfer it to a new harddrive as long as it's the same PS3.

I knew about it before hand as I had seen a lot of PS3 owners upset about that on the official forums. Couldn't help it tho, my PS3 started crapping out. Fallout 3 was running slow as hell and would just freeze up, Assassin's Creed 2 had a block in front of my char where things were textured, and everything outside of it was blurry. Even Oblivion took forever to load, trees weren't visible until I was right next to them. So I backed up my harddrive, DA saves and all, and sent it in for repairs. I got back a refurbished model only slightly better. So I just bought a new PS3 knowing that one would crap out. When I tried to install my backup data it let me know some data couldn't be installed. I go check ,y saves and 2 games (DA being one of them) had no save game data.

I played the demo on PS3, and it seemed a little more faster paced and such than the original did, from what I can recall anyway. I actually have this more on my radar after that. I liked the first one okay enough but actually never finished it (mainly because I lost interest in the story, though, not necessarily the gameplay). Sounds like this story doesn't follow that one all that closely, either. May pick it up later down the road, maybe over summer when I have a little more time.

DA 2's story branches off from Origins', so I'm sure we'll see some overlap. We already did in the demo, technically, with both games using the Battle of Ostagar as their starting point (after the individual origins in Origins, of course; but I consider those more of a prologue than the beginning of Origins).

Also, I just realized that this mother drops on my spring break, so it turns out I'll have some time to play it immediately after all. I was afraid I'd have to wait until summer because it's a game I know I'll get into and not want to stop playing. :hehe:

EA clearly paid off that reviewer! 94! GUH! Riot! Riot! Riot!

Playing DAO and it's pissing me off that my Mage has to walk into position first, instead of unloading that ****ING Fireball on the spot! Forcing me to reload my save file. I'm so happy I don't have to deal with that **** in DA2.

I'm just now reading the character bios on the DA 2 website. Wow, so Fenris is Wolverine. Like, even calling him a "thinly veiled" Wolverine is pushing it. He is totally Wolverine.

You might have to run into range to throw the fireball at where you aimed, but you shouldn't have to run right on top of where you aimed to throw the fireball at your feet.

Move manually so you're closer, then throw the fireball when you're already in range.

I played both versions...360 and PC and I really prefer the PC version...despite the fact the PC demo is broken. LOL
