When the whole Tournament of Power arc began, I was thinking what a shame it was that we didn't have any villains around anymore. The Tournament of Power isn't a simple friendly competition. Everyone's very existence is at stake. It would have made sense for heroes and villains to join forces to save the Universe they inhabit.

So I don't mind that Freezer will join the Tournament to defend Universe 7. But I admit I am annoyed by the fact that the character keeps getting killed and being brought back. Though in the world of Dragon Ball, I guess we should already be used to it by now, that characters won't ever stay dead. Certain Z fighters have already died multiple times and were always brought back by the Dragon Balls. And hey, this time it's only going to be for 24 hours, before he has to return to hell.

Muten Roushi provides both a character and combat variety to the team, which will keep the characters from all basically fighting the same, which I assume is what Series Directors Nagamine Tatsuya and Nakamura Ryouta want. If they ask scenarist Tomioka Atsuhiro to dig back into the strategies he wrote for Pocket Monster: Diamond & Pearl I bet we could have a real winner on hand, too.

Hopefully we'll get more universe 6 this week. Time for Pimp Master Cabba to teach his ladies to go SSJ or LSSJ in the case of Kale.

One good thing to come from this: Freeza's reaction to being in the cocoon, tormented, then catching sight of Goku.

I'm wondering if Freeza coming back will tip off the other U7 fighters as to the stakes of the Tournament of Power.

So while I'm not all that crazy about DBS, besides the Zamasu arc, I admit that was fun, I'm happy Gohan was using super saiyan again.

However...

I see they have resurrected Gohan's ultimate form. So that is a bummer. Super saiyan Gohan is best Gohan, IMO.

Why didn't GT just use Uub as the main character instead of turning Goku back into a kid?

Son Gokuu is popular with both fans, Toriyama Akira and the production staff of the various animated projects. Every time Toriyama has tried to remove Gokuu he realizes that there's nothing interesting to do, so he brings the character back. Dragon Ball is easy to write when Gokuu is the main character, because you can then write all of the other characters to bounce back off of him.

Exactly. Sure, it's a bummer Buu is being left out AGAIN, but this is going to be sooooo good. Seeing Frieza and the Z-fighters team up to save the universe? Daaaaamn, this really has me excited!
