I know him as the strong and silent alien, Ronon Dex from Stargate Atlantis. Seems like a good fit (though he almost looked like a twig next to Christopher Judge... just sayin').

Yeah, but be fair: who doesn't? ;)

Seems pretty standard. Marvel presents an offer, his representatives counter with something more substantial, and they haggle and end up somewhere in the middle.
Very likely. As I said before, Evans original deal to play Captain America was for 9 movies. It later turned to 6.

I just read he want double pay to play Drax.

Dear Marvel
Just pay the man double, who els ya got :cmad:

If he is overpricing himselft then he might not get the role.

Just wondering, has anyone ever predicted an actor for a Marvel movie before on this type of threads? We come here saying this and this actor would be better for the role and this other actor su.ck.s. then BAM! We get an announcement and everyone jumps ship to him. Anyone?

Fixed it for you.

Also, OT, but seriously what were they thinking with that crappy CG mask for Green Lantern? In the actual movie it literally looks like they used photoshop to paint a domino mask on his face.

That's because they literally used photoshop to paint a domino mask on his face.

Hope Momoa can sort something out, he is a good fit for the role, but if he tries to mess about with Marvel, they will drop him in a heartbeat and go for someone else.

This is the studio who dropped Terrence Howard and Edward Norton, and nearly dropped Mickey Rourke and Samuel L. Jackson, Momoa doesnt stand a chance if he asking for too much.

Losing Howard was a good thing, Cheadle is a superior Rhodey. While losing Rourke wouldn't have been a bad thing since Whiplash didn't do anything anyway.

Though, I do hope they get Momoa. He seems like he'd be perfect for the role.

Holy CRAP. I was just looking at pictures of Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa when it clicked in my head "why doesn't Marvel take a page out of Bryan Singer's book and cast someone from GOT, this guy should play Drax." and I came here to post that same thing when I started reading this page and only then realized he was already cast in the role.:shock

I've been sick for the last few days so only now crawled from up under my rock.

Edited to add I just read the story and see that he hasn't been cast yet. But he should!

I think in matter of days he'll be officially cast.

I couldnt disagree more, I think Cheadle is a better actor, but Howard was a much better Rhodey for me, couldnt believe when they got rid of him.

^AGREE 100 % cheadle is not rhodes at all he is a better actor but howard was perfectly cast as rhodes

Has nothing to do with Drax or the GOTG at all, but I'll just chime in on the argument du jour and say that Howard was a crappy Rhodey. Howard acted more like a gangsta wanksta than an Air Force officer. Cheadle is more reserved and believable as an officer with a strong sense of duty, honor and decorum.

Boom! 100%!

Now, to finally silence the small contingent of Norton apologists.

i think howard came across more likeable and had far better chemistry with rdj than cheadle has

He also had a better script/story direction than Cheadle

that still doesn't make him a good Rhodey. His hip hops attitude made him unwatchable. Cheadle, while lacking charisma, gave a way better performance as a member of the military

Yup.
You could actually believe that someone with Cheadle's strict persona would've made his way through the ranks all the way up to colonel. Howard, with his side-kicky loose shuckin' and jivin', wouldn't have gotten very far as an enlisted man, much less an officer.

A little surprised we haven't seen any "bald Momoa as Drax" fan art concepts yet...
