^ The Drax in the film isn't gonna be the original Hulk-like version, so I doubt he'll Hulk level.

So I'm leaing towards somewhere in between Iron Man and Thor strength.

With Hulk, Drax, and Gamora...in Avengers II there's going to be too many people with green skin. They should think about making Drax's or Gamora's skin a different color, like blue or gray.

Power-wise I would want Drax stronger than Iron Man but not quite Thor level. Same with his durability, he should to able to put Iron Man down, but would only put Thor down in a fight maybe 3/4 times out of ten.

Basically, he should be able to give Thanos a real good fight, but of course never win, unless we see Annihilation some day.

But yes, obviously they are going with the current drax look, but I mean...idk how his strength will be portrayed...is he going to basically be the classic drax on screen?? With just the the current look to modernize it on screen?? Ya never know. But if we are getting proportional, you are probably right...probably in between ironmaan and thor

Because so many of have been asking me, I figure I update the story. So from what I understand, Jason Momoa is now officially out and Dave Baustista is flying in to meet with Marvel in Los Angeles this week to discuss the role of Drax. Bautista has been the good soldier, auditioning, and it now looks like he has outlasted not only Momoa, but Isiah Mustafa, and Brian Patrick Wade. Again, he is flying into Marvel to take a meeting. Could he get an offer? Maybe. Depending how he does in the room with the execs. I also think they’re trying to drum up fan support hence why you saw Vin Diesel drop a picture on his facebook page of him and Bautista in the upcoming Riddick. Let’s see how this plays out. Should be an interesting week.

Well Hulk's destroyed meteors twice the size of earth, but that's neither here nor there.

I think since they're going with modern Drax's look it's safe to say they'll go with his strength level as power set as well.

He's chalked it down as "unconfirmed rumour".

Clive Standen from BBC Robin Hood, Vikings, Gawain in Camelot and Doctor Who might be a good Drax.

He has the good acting skills as well as good physical attributes that could suit the role.

6'2 Standen was an international Muay Thai boxer as a teenager and was national champion in his late teens as well a Fencing gold medalist. He got his acting training at London Acadamy Of Music And Dramatic Art and honed his choreography and fighting skills by gaining an advanced gold certificate in sword fighting from the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat.
