I don't mind the casting of Batista , but I've never read much of these particular characters. I can see why some fans are upset. Batista won't ruin the movie , but I don't think he'll be true to the character based on what I've read.

As long as they don't just make him a mute that's only used for action scenes, I'm fine with it. I hate characters whose sole purpose is to do action scenes. See the x-men films.

We shouldn't worry just about his acting,The main thing is how the character is written&directed

He at least looks the part,Now we just need to know how the character will be handled

you know what...**** it.

This is the choice they made. Who are we to say who is, and isn't a good casting choice? I personally would rather see someone else, but we didn't see Bautisa's audition.

Clearly marvel and james gunn saw something in his test we didn't. I am gunna give him the benefit of the doubt

That's probably the biggest concern. People don't want to see Drax dumbed down.

I'll wait for at least the first official screenshot&parts in the trailer before praising or bashing the decision

Maybe he'll pull a Channing Tatum where he's a crappy actor and fans don't want him, but then proves to have comedic chops and goes on to deliver solid serious performances under good direction.

You know, this decision is getting a fair bit of criticism, but I'm not real sure it is warranted. I mean this is a big budget movie and clearly Marvel knows what is at stake. They are not going to jeopardize a potential franchise by not being completely sold on the actors they are choosing. I'm confident that they vetted Bautista thoroughly and felt he could handle it. He certainly has the look and he did land a role in Riddick.

Channing Tatum in 21 Jump Street is Hi-larious.

He really is, I think that was the role that made most people realize he was more than a good-looking dummy, ironically by playing a good-looking dummy.

maybe he has as many lines as the guy who played sabertooth in bryan singers x-men.

I thought for sure The Rock would be the first wrestler to play a superhero but im mixed on this but I imagine there was a lot people who had to say yes for him to get hired so I will hope for the best.

He has had knife training,Maybe that'll come in handy!?..

Just logged on and saw this. First off congrats to Bautista. While he was not my first choice, I am more than fine with his casting. Since stepping away from wrestling, he has been doing movies taking smaller roles and steadily building his resume. Now i've not seen Man with the Iron fist, but he has been auditioning and must have shown Gunn and Marvel something to win the part. He should probably also thank Momoa or his reps.

At the very least we know he's got a great look and won't be getting towered over by Pratt.

I look forward to set pics. And, now onto Gamora casting :D

lol @ the people who are all butt hurt

I love this casting.

It's like lifelong fans of Guardians of the Galaxy are coming out the woodwork. Is the book really that sacred?

Haven't really noticed anyone being '********'. Some have their misgivings and that's perfectly natural but it isn't like they're having riots. Reactions has been pretty tame. Get a grip.

I haven't seen many of his movies besides Coach Carter, Fighting, and some of GI Joe. But I bet his two chick flicks (The Vow, Dear John) aren't that bad as far as chick flicks go haha. Not interested in Magic Mike, but I read it's not entirely too bad and he was good in it.
