i dont understand that smirk at the end of the gif. how does this fit with the character that the trailer presents?I don't think she should be overtly expressive/emotional. My favorite version is Oshii version and Johansson is too expressive with all her trademark smirks. Cold, detached, bossy, impulsive. And she should be contrasted by her colleagues. That's what I want to see and I can't see it so far.

Well, Cowboy Bebop and Akira are biggest contenders for adaptation. Stuff like Neon Genesis Evangelion or Devil Man won't be adapted because of hard R coupled with large budget requirement. I personally want Bubblegum Crisis and Gunsmith Cats to be turned into movies. Girl power stuff raises it's head and these are good fit.
